Medal Display Case ??

Post by StevenG »

Good evening folks :)

Been asked to replace a few medal display cases, making the box won't be an issue but inside the existing cases are little stud type things that allow the medal pins to attach onto, holding them in place. (They have to be removable for cleaning/ceremonies etc ). I'm sure I'm not using the correct terms here but I've attached a few pics. Can anyone advise when I can get something similar?

Cheers
Steven

Try on ebay

Look for jewellery display pads. You can use it for the same purpose, Just make your frame around it

Good idea but I'm just not sure I could attach the mounted medals onto it or if it's foam could it take the weight

Nice thinking though

maybe, but ideally I'd just try and find those little brown 'stud with a hole for the pin' things. I'm trying to keep the customer happy by trying to keep things as simple as possible :)

I've checked the catalogue but seen nothing - but I suppose a call won't do any harm. Thanks again for the advice :)

oooh, that's pretty close. That might do the trick except there's nothing to stop the toggle coming through the hole :?

Actually, I never even knew those jacket things could be bought separately!!

You could easily glue your own base on to the toggle, or maybe there's a version that has one already - or maybe those things in your photo can be bought somewhere - or ........... you could just fashion something yourself, if it's a row of medals on a long pin it could go over some sort of Z bar the same length, no need to undo the pin then.

Could a passe partout ring be the solution?

Throw away the ring, thread the clip through your backing, spread the two tails of the clip behind your backing and stick a piece of strong self adhesive tape over the spread tails.

If you have picked the right size passe partout ring (there is a range of sizes to choose from), then you should be able to pass the pin on the medals broach bar through the looped end of the clip.
