Morso BA Knives
Hello Fellow framers I have a Morso BA bench top guillotine and wish to purchase some new knives as mine have been hollow ground almost once too often. The NZ agents want two arms and two legs for a new set, and as they come from your neck of the woods anyway, I'm considering my options. I've seen s...

Re: Moulding cutting wastage
Hi Fellow Framers
I use this nifty little programme called Simple Cutting Software from http://www.nesting-technologies.com.
It is great for cutting glass but I use it too for working out moulding cuts for big framing jobs.
For what it's worth.
Cheers

Re: Pricing Increases
Thanks John
I've upgraded to 8.5.1 and it all works as you said it would. I get the *.csv files from my suppliers and update their prices manually. I add the moulding prices for the mouldings as I use them, so that works quite well for me. Thanks again for your help on this one.
Cheers Campbell

Pricing Increases
Hi Fellow framers
What is the best and easiest way in Estlite to increase the prices of all the materials by 15%. All my suppliers have put their prices up again and I need to pass some of them on. I know you will know the answer.
Cheers and thanks

Re: Estlite & Windows 10
Thanks John and IFGL. I have checked my graphics driver and it is running the latest version. Interestingly running in Safe Mode on John's suggestion, the programme opened to the Main screen in less than 1 second! I'll keep an eye on things with any Windows updates, but will live with the issue for ...

Estlite & Windows 10
Hi John I'm using the latest Estlite version 8.462 with Windows 10 and have found the programme takes about 4minutes to actually open to the main screen. The time it's taking is odd, because it hasn't always done this. I have uninstalled Estlite and downloaded the current version with the same resul...

Re: Permanently mounting Fujiflex Hi-Gloss (cibachrome)
Hi there I've just found this article about static mounting your cibachrome prints. I have assisted our framer to mount down a large glossy print using the static technique. It really does work, is totally reversible. Hope this article helps. Cheers Campbell http://www.designsinkart.com/library/P-St...

Estlite Earlier Versions download
Hi John I'm running windows 7 pro 64bit and have been happily running version 8 of Estlite. Today I upgraded to version 8.13 and all hell broke loose, and it didn't work. I created an image of my HDD before upgrading so I restored and Estlite version 8 works fine, but I am reluctant to upgrade the s...

Re: Identifying UV glass
Gus Hi Yes there is a way of identifying whether glass with a UV filter (coating) has been fitted to a frame. If you hold the art uptowards the light you can see the orange peel ripple effect. If you don't see this then it is unlikely that the glass has a UV coating. In my experience there should al...

Cassese CS89 Underpinner
Hi I have just purchased a second-hand CS89 underpinner. It works fine but the big red Emergency Stop button doesn't do anything and is very loose on its shaft. I'm not familiar with what it does and the manual barely mentions it. If someone out there has one I'd be grateful for a replay. Cheers and...

Re: Pesky Pastels !!
Greetings I've recently had that issue with framing pastels whereby the pastel wasn't fixed or stabalised. So whenever framing a pastel or charcoal piece I usually go with the traditional (reverse bevel) mat window opening and adding a foamboard spacer (at least 10mm) between the mat and the art pie...

Framing Degrees and University Certificates
Hi Team I have been given some university degree certificates to frame and was wanting your opinion on what would be in the fitness of things. The client wanted them behind glass but with no matboard.. I advised them against this because moisture could and would in time damage these important docume...

Liability Insurance - Anyone?
Hi Folks What do you have in the way of insurance when it all turns to custard? Do you have public liability insurance so you don't have to mortgage the house to pay the compensation when you spilled the mug of coffee over the original print? I've been framing for 12 years, had no insurance for such...

Suggestions required for framing this print
Hi Folks
I'm looking for suggestions for framing this print made of really fine rice paper.
I plan to have a double window matboard, but would like your views on the type, size, colour of the moulding and colour of the mat board.
Cheers and thanks

Hi Campbell! Hi right back at you First up, I have the same query as Steve, i.e. why no window mount? Is it because the artpiece has an attractive deckled edge you wish to keep visible? No, it's because the client doesn't want a window mount, I would really love to frame it with a window mount. Reg...

Mounting
Hi there team I am mounting a watercolour on a Crescent artcare mountboard using pass through hinges. There will be no window mount, just the artwork surface mounted. The mountboard and art will be spaced off the glass using Frametek econospace. I'll use a 5mm foamboard as a backing. My question rea...

Cutting V Grooves
Hi team I have a Keencut Ultimat Matcutter and need to cut a V groove that is in the fitness of things. Once I decide where I want the groove, I cut the mat in the normal way, turn the fall-out over and then trim the bevel on all 4 sides. The result is a bit furry especially at the ends. I fit the r...

Osgood - you really should know better
I blame you for the fact that the Aussies dissembled and lost the recent one day series. You shouldn't make comments about the way the English play the game - it only encourages them. I had given up on the Black Caps, and who wouldn't. They were terrible and deserved to come second. Generally though...
