Large Tapestry

I have a customer with large, 5ft x 4ft, professionally woven tapestry. She doesn't want it framed persay but wants it stretched so that it's flat and can be hung on the wall. It seems to be pretty square, so not running out. It has a cotton backing. I was thinking of using a sheet of Rhino board fr...

Re: I'm looking for ideas for selling a large quantity of frame rims?

If you think there is some money to be made selling these on ebay, why not do that yourself?

I think the cost for "customer" to buy, advertise and post is unrealistic.

Re: Glass choices

I offer std. 2mm float, 99UV, AR70UV, AR99UV
Biggest seller now is AR70UV, more for the AR than the 70UV, it practically sells itself.
I've got several of my own pictures on display with the AR70, people see the benefit and once they've had it they'll have it evrytime.

Re: Ricky - Barnard Castle Frames

I haven't logged on in a few days but I saw on a Facebook framers page that a Framer in Barnard's Castle had passed. I knew Ricky was from there but even so it was still a shock to see it on here. I met Ricky at NYAF hand finishing weekend a few years ago; nice, genuine bloke. Condolences to his fam...

Re: Wessex OTC

Certainly not a problem at their Leamington branch. As I live relatively close I usually call in once a week for moulding and mountboard, very rarely pre-order.
In the past I've even picked up glass on the day! But I wouldn't recommend that, best to have that delivered.

Re: Digital Calipers

I've had a set of Mitutoyo digital calipers for +15 years and only ever needed to change the battery, these were bought during my engineering days when the level of accuracy was required and the digital readout was a convenience. If you're struggle with the price for quality digital calipers then go...

Re: Reverse Bevels for Slips / Fillets

Thanks Prospero, Steve,

I hadn't got round to trying Prospero's original method but I didn't think it sounded quite right but I will be trying the revised method later this week and I'll let you know.

The Keencut gizmo for cutting reverse bevels is on Ebay for £23 so if all else fails...

Reverse Bevels for Slips / Fillets

Not wishing to start the slip / fillet discussion again but...

I know you can get a reverse bevel stop gauge for a Keencut Ultimat but is there an easy / simple way to cut a reverse bevel in a mount to install a slip / fillet?

Thanks in advance

That'll be why you had 120 in the title, DOH!

Lion have them new, on special, for £890 so...I'd have thought somewhere around the £750 mark?

Cheers Steve, much appreciated.

Have you got some dry mount tissue that size that I could buy off you?

The stuff I use day to day isn't wide enough :Slap:

Large Posters for Dry Mounting

Hi All, I've got 3 large posters, 102cm x 77cm, in for framing that could do with dry mounting. These are too big to fit in my Hotpress so is there anyone local, SW Birminghsm, Redditch, Worcester, Warwick or Coventry area that could dry mount them for me. I'll provide the board and obviously cover ...

If it's only the odd one now and again you want to photograph, loosely assemble without the glass, take your photo and then finish properly.
