Hi all, I've had a customer in that wanted an aluminium frame, and chose a moulding from arqadias range, ordered it pre-chopped and added on the routing connecting kit. Now when going to put it all together I have become confused as to how it holds the glass, pic, mount in the frame obviously cant b...

need help drymounting
A Customer has brought in a poster 1000mm x 700mm that he wants drymounting prior to framing. However I'm pretty inexperienced with framing and have never drymounted. I dont want to risk damaging the print so wondered if there is a foolproof guide or even better someone local to me that could drymou...

Re: Montage Printing
if you have cs4 I wouldn't bother spending out any more money. scan in individual pics, rub out bits you dont want to keep using a soft brush.
then just use the move tool to drag the image over onto a montage document and place where required.
It will take you a few minutes for each image maximum.

£2.30 or so per metre, not so cheap i guess.Jonny2morsos wrote:1.Have you tried bringing the blades forward?
2. Is it a cheap Contract Moulding?
what do you mean by bringing the blades forwards, I'm a newbie to framing.

need help with morso
I'm just about to start on a large production range of frames, however when using the morso my moulding keeps ending up with a tearing effect on the mitres.
Not sure what I would need to adjust but here are some pics of what i am getting.

Re: Memoory Card readers
we use sandisk readers in the office and they have stood up to reading 50-60 cards a week for the last 5 years without getting damaged.

Hi all,
Just doing a quote for a mass production run and wondered if anyone could give me a way of best working out how many 20"x6" backboards i could get from a standard 914mmx1220mm sheet and also how to best work out a cutting diagram.
thanks in advance
Marc

I would think that due to data protection laws they would be able to give you the information with any details regarding whoever complained censored from the document.

Re: Digital Printing Question
although I guess it is all down to personal opinion quality wise and as I work all day with lab prints and you work all day with inkjet prints there is some form of biasness on both our behalfs.

Re: Digital Printing Question
i cant really agree with you on that. Although I guess it all depends on which lab you are using. Loxleys main print area is in wedding and photographic studios. I have had hundreds of prints from them which are of a much better quality than you can get with any inkjet printer on the market. Our own...

Re: Digital Printing Question
Seems amazingly expensive to me. We have a lab printer but our max paper size is only 12" wide so couldnt do to a2, But as he is a photographer tell him it may be worth him getting an account setup with loxley colour they will print a 24x16 (as close to a2 as u will get) for £9.56 + VAT. I thin...

Re: which font
Yes we do those for them, most the schools we do we actually make up the staffboard as a 20x16 print with names and titles below the pictures, but some schools still go for individual pics and arrange the framing themselves. Its probably my most hated part of my job as getting details from schools c...

Re: which font
Hi jared, yes it is the chunky font type used for name mats. but due to what we are hoping to produce with it i need a font that is as wide as possible to display close to full frame of a taken image as possible. I am hoping to be able to go and see the valiani display that mal reynolds is doing nex...

need aperture cutting in lincs on jumbo board
topic gives a good idea, but my board size is 1425 x 625 and need an aperture cutting in it. its too large to do on fletcher 2200 and I'm not sure I'd be able to do it to a good enough quality by hand. If anyone can do it or point me in the right direction that would be great.
thanks in advance.

do you CMC guys use for names/years etc on CMC machine. Looking to put together a few samples for work for some product ideas and want a sufficiently wide font to display a picture positively.
