Re: Glassless framing...

Depending on size.the mount may or may not bow,but without glass it is open to dust ,splashes etc.and the mount would get grubby. If you like the no glass look, you could always frame using a wooden 'slip' instead of mount,or use a tray frame(google).
Looks well by the way.

Just to make clear,it is FREE to a good home(float glass and other benches free also). It would be a shame to put it to rec...

Re: Underpinner pushing up moulding before pressure pad

Never used that underpinner, but it sounds like the top pressure pad is too high, try lowering it .

Re: Morso Guillotine / Mitre Cutter

Steve,
if you have the space,a good first/second/third-hand Morso is the kit for you and will give you accurate mitres and identical lengths on your frame sides.
Have you had a look at the sales section http://theframersforum.com/viewforum.php?f=7 .

If aesthetics aren't top of the list ,you could try DIY wall easels - something along these lines-

Re: foamboard spacers?

Thanks Robo-thats one for the PVA/doublesided/pinwheel method  I was tempted to back it up with a staple(then paint the staple with acrylic paint). Tim, foamboard pva/d/s/pinwheel - needs glass in first.( i think) You could make the spacer from wood and underpin(glass still needs to go in firs...
