WANTED - 2nd hand computerised mount cutter

As per Subject Line - I'm in the market for a computerised mount cutter. Cash isn't in endless supply though, so I@m probably going to have to settle for a second hand or ex-demo unit. I *DO NOT* need the computer though if that helps - I have enough laptops and desktops kicking about that one of th...

Colourmount? Mountboard code

Quickie - I used to use a black mountboard which had a 'linen' effect similar to the Snow White Colourmount 3971. As is always the way, (and also 'cos I've been out of action for nearly a year) I cannot find my colourmount chart, and all the offcuts I have don't have the product code on the back bec...

Hello All

After a particularly horrendous year, I'm now back in my workshop!

Did I miss much?

Looking for a framer in Tralee or Killarney

Hi Does anyone know of a friendly framer in Tralee/Killarney or environs that might be able to help me out - I'm travelling to that part of the country next week, and I'm going to need a simple mountboard cutting. It'll be hayseed or similar, conservation whitecore, about 460mm square, single openin...

Re: Merry Christmas Everyone!

I second Robo's remarks - I make my own photo greetings cards anyway, so Christmas cards aren't an issue - I also make calendars which do for the outlying members of the family and a few villagers, and then it's cushions or frames for the rest! Problem this year will be finding the time - I didn't g...

Re: Air bubble line with drytac jetmounter 62

I used to have a excellent Hotpress DVD which explained almost everything you'd need to know about using a jetmounter, but can't put my hand on it now. However, there's a couple of vids on youtube that might help.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxQcJHT3-Qg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnTNxEXxb...

Re: Glass offcuts

I made a stack of small squares and oblongs to cover seed trays and plant pots in the greenhouse while germinating seeds. That took about a weeks worth of offcuts about seven years ago, and I've not found much of a use for any offcuts since!! Like others have said, my local council won't recycle gla...

Re: Car insurance - a banner on this forum

Not THAT relevant, just yesterday I had a banner ad posted for a Rangmaster cooker. I certainly haven't looked at any such sites for at least a year, since we had our 'new' cooker installed just in time for Christmas LAST year! Right now it's serving me up a mouthwatering Samsung ad for a Galaxy S4,...

Re: How to cut what I think is called an open V-groove?

I wouldn't rent a workshop - I worked for five years in a 10' x 12' shed in the garden. I could only cut moulding when it was dry though, since the Morso had to be right next to the door, with the uncut length balanced on a trestle outside!

What's the error message? They're usually pretty specific, and can give a fairly accurate idea of the likely cost of repair.....

Anyone else having problems getting to the keencut website? I'm looking for a manual for an Ultimat Gold, specifically the section on 'squaring up' since mine seems to have gone a bit wonky.....

Re: foamboard spacers?

'tis truly weird that when I logged on in order to ask a question about foambaord spaces faced with mountboard, this thread should already be established! Since I'm just trying something similar, I can't really help much - except to say that the D/S tape I'm using seems to do the trick OK, but cause...

And if they can't, then I can - probably for a lot less than these chaps would be charging! On colour profiled equipment and professional papers too! :giggle:

Moulding question

Does anyone know whether the Lion moulding M144-74 is available with a deeper rebate from any other supplier? Ideally I need about 20mm, so anything similar looking (gunmetal/silver/black) would probably be acceptable.....
