Re: Wavey Canvass

I've a holiday canvas to do too, quite heavy oils, taken off the stretchers and rolled up to bring back. Can you do much more than get it tightish over some pieces of wood; my thoughts are that it'll never stretch as tight as it was pre painting so was not intending to use anything other than some w...

Re: Marketing

Thanks fellas, some good thoughts to mull over, and I've the semblance of a plan coming together. I definitely subscribe to working less for more and I've got two or three things I will share in the New Year by way of example.
As a ps, does anyone do photo blocks by the way?

Marketing

Probably covered before, but I'm determined to up the anti business wise in 2020. Without a High St presence, without a large slug of people from referrals / past customers, what marketing has worked for you, or what might you offer from your current thinking?

Re: No way round this?

Well I've done it and luck or not it worked out fine. I laid a length of moulding along the artwork, marked and cut it. Checked it, then put it on the morso bed butting it up to the blades at max cut. Put the other length on top and with the morso at max cut again pressed down to capture where the c...

Thanks

Re: Picture Framing Magazine September 2019

Have to say I'm not keen on the new format where you go through Issuu or whoever, I used to download the mag then print off the article I wanted to use in a project, I found that easier than using the pad.

Re: Board for Drymounting.

I use white display board from Wessex, it has a good flat surface to it and it quite rigid compared to mountboard

Moulding search

I'm looking or flat white moulding, 40mm on face and about 35 deep, square profile, can any one point me in the right direction, I cannot seem to find on Frinton, Wessex, Mainline. Has to be a lookalike for another so wood grain effect not an option.

Thanks for your help.

This is a beige coloured moulding, 31mm across the face and 18mm deep. It has a grain type of effect quite delicate. Does anyone recognise please or possibly suggest somewhere near.

Thank you in anticipation.

The White Decision?

Has anyone given up on white frames, no matter what I do (and even with chop) I cannot get away from black lines at every corner joint.
I've not found a particularly good filler and most times the line is so minute there's nothing to fill.
time to not offer white I think.

Thanks, I did in fact use gummed tape on one of them, which was more unruly than the others.
Helped me no end this thread.

Re: Platform Mount or hinge

i just wondered what tape you uses when you tape the fall out back into position. I used p90 however the curve on the artwork card ( it had been rolled up and still retained "spring) tended it to push it of

Re: Platform Mount or hinge

In the end I used a platform mount for these and they worked out great thanks. I've no wheat starch stuff anyway, so that was a none starter for me.
And yes, of course, the package is no thicker. I'd got my platforms and sinks mixed up, but we don't want to go back to Aug 2016 again do we.
