Re: Clear acrylic mount
Ha ha yes thanks - I had considered that, and also bet they won't tell. I suspect that's where the inspiration came from.Jonny2morsos wrote:Could ask these folk http://www.venturephotography.com/uk/ph ... f=1689&v=2 but I bet they won't tell you!

Clear acrylic mount
Hi all, I've been asked by a customer to frame some photos, and they'd like to be able to see the wall thru the mount. My solution is to do an inner frame, and screw that from the back, to a piece of acrylic. Photo attached so you can see what I'm doing (sorry technology has beaten me and I don't se...

Thanks all!! Townsend - I've just ordered some pairs of Sock Shop's thermal (2.4tog) socks. :D Juliet - had a look at fitflops - wow they are expensive aren't they? I'll see how I get on with the Sock Shop socks, the cardboard and the snow boots and if all else fails will shop for the fitflops - the...

non-standard shape acrylic sheet needed
Hi all, I'm framing 3 small prints and want to do them in a stepped arrangement (so they form a diagonal, stepped frame, if that makes sense?). I'm ok with the reverse mitres, but I'm thinking I'm going to need acrylic sheet rather than glass - cutting glass in this shape would probably be impossibl...

freezing feet
Hi all, Any recommendations on footwear for the workshop? I have a concrete floor and where I stand I have a few layers of cardboard (I know rubber matting like stable matting is good too) but anyone got any secrets for how they keep their feet warm? It's blummin freezing in there! thanks all Lynda ...

Re: how to frame this
Hello, I framed a stretched canvas (gouache) recently. It didn't look right with any moulding I tried next to it, so I did something a bit different. Attached it to mountboard from the back (screws thru the mount and into the frame with an extra piece of backing board behind for strength) and then a...

transparent "mount"
Hi all, I've just been perusing different styles of framings on the web as I have a client who is interested in more modern effect, so I've been looking for inspiration. I've seen one that looks fab and it's the image, framed under glass and using slips, but with no mount board so the image appears ...

Lion attendees!! Casesse 10mm wedges anyone?
Hi all, I have a Pro Turner underpinner and recently ordered the wrong kind of wedges for it. Loads of them. It's a box of 40 (well 39 now) cartridges - Cassese normal 10mm wedges - the ones in the pale blue catridges. One of the cartridges went south (all contents on the workshop floor) when I trie...

Framing poetry
Hi all. I'm thinking of being a bit creative with my framing and one of the things I'm considering is ready made box frames incorporating poetry and a relevant item - e.g. a poem about a new baby with a pair of miniature bootees or something. My question is - if I use somebody elses poetry, does thi...
