Re: Attaching a fringe

That's great advice, thanks. I'm glad I was on the right idea then. Although it would have been nice to find a neat trick for doing it. That's why I thought I could farm out the sewing bit. They would be quicker but also can charge whatever they need to for their bit and it shows the break dow...

Re: Attaching a fringe

Thanks for your prompt reply. They did want it flat with the fringe out all the way round. Apparently they have had others like that in the past done badly. Eek. So they decided they would get a proper job done this time. I think I performed well and passed the test as I have mentioned all the conse...

Attaching a fringe

Hi, I'm busy on the forum today reaching out for help with all those jobs that are hanging around. They don't go away do they? :head: Haha. Here's the latest. I have been asked to frame some military colours. They are huge flags with fringes on them. The customer is part of a team that are wanting t...

Re: Moulding ID

Another one he has seen is this. It's a high gloss pewter. Using my sharp detective skills  I contacted the people who were on the labels and they said they weren't framers or even at the NEC. I didn't have the energy to say I wasn't asking about that and thought perhaps they wanted to get rid ...

Moulding ID

Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me find a moulding please. A photographer customer has seen some framing at a show at the NEC and would like me to make one for him. I have seen the moulding in Arqadia and ordered a length, along with the fillet. The photo the photographer sent me looks like the slip...

Selling artwork

Does anyone have any advice for selling artwork. I am a framer with a display area I try to sell from. I don't get many sales. I charge 25% commission to the artist when a sale is made and it has to be my framing. I try and promote it on social media but still sales are slow if non existent. I don't...

Re: Poorly Morso

Thanks for your replies. The engineer didn't want to fit it and I totally understand his reasons. Yes it is the same guy. Totally trust his advice. New quote for the pump price today is £1350. Yikes. Love the Morso. Don't really want to change the type and not keen on extra dust. Will keep mulling i...

Poorly Morso

Hi. I have a poorly Morso. Had the engineer out to it who said the pump is on its way out. My options are the following: £600 ish to buy the part and fit it myself. Risky and a pig of a job apparently but not impossible. I have a couple of car mechanic friends/family. £2000 ish to keep an eye out fo...
