Re: designs
I worked at a frame shop in Atlanta during the 1996 Olympics. To say that they pursued copyright violations aggressively is a severe understatement. You might also want to find out what words are trademarked too, since even using "Olympic" as a photo-font mat was off-limits. We didn't both...

Both of those are rather old - 5.4 was released in October of 2006, and 5.5 was released back in August of 2007. I'd double check with Sam on that, and I'll check over here to see what the situation is - sometimes we hold international releases a bit later in order for the translations and such to c...

FYI, PathTrace can import DXF files... in fact, I'm pretty sure every CMC brand supports DXF in some fashion. The problem with DXFs though is that there's 100 ways under sun to specify arcs, so not every program that saves a DXF (e.g. Corel, Abode Illustrator, Auto CAD, Visio, etc.) saves it the sam...

Yeah, but its more than just one click, right? You have to type the letters and sizes in, position it somewhere on the mat, etc.. Wizard generates the offsets in one click too. But what happens if the paths overlap? What if you wanted the letters close enough together so that the top mat was one big...

You certainly can do it on the Wizard, it's just not automatic. Using the PathTrace tool, you can offset the letters the distance you would like for the reveal, then just set the bevels and layers. Our helpdesk can certainly walk you through the process if needed. This is roughly equivalent in compl...

Nice to have maybe, but do you really need all those 'bells and whistles' that comes with the Wizard software. 85% of our mounts are the standard rectangle, about 10% are ovals/circles and 5% are bespoke shapes. No major problem in designing them either. Sorry, it sounds as though I am knocking Wiz...

Thanks Wiz Steve - your explanation came over as helpfull - not commercial. - The Demo disc on PFM (was it just my copy or did we all have the same articles printed twice this time) was very usefull - I have looked at a few similar programmes in the past - but this has taken the concept a huge leap...

Coxby said: poor merging of the moulding sample Not sure what exactly you mean by poor merging, but it should allow you to get a very good representation of a tiled moulding texture fairly easily. The latest version from the magazine also allows you to rotate the texture region to align it to the a...
