Re: Popularity of Polcore
Heres another angle. I was approched by a young lady exibiting a garden at chelsea. wanted some artwork framed to hang in an out house/shed. Every thing made of wood ie outhouse/shed, bench seats, trellis, plant stakes, fences, absolutely everything had to have an FSC certificate. Apparently after m...

Re: Wessex Moulding C2189
Have you tried asking your local Wessex supplier to try all their other area suppliers to see if anyone has C2189. Dereham in Norfolk is my supplier and John Barton is allways very helpfull in tracking down discontinued mouldings.

Does the forum think?
Customer has asked me to produce a new frame to match two existing frames. Customer lives in London and visits his holiday home in north-east Essex perhaps five or six times a year. Existing frames were made in London. I'm having difficulty in getting the stain the same so as they all match. Is it t...

Re: Iraq & Afgan medals
The original design was to have the rim package hinged with a piano hinge, but it looked to bulky. The rim is Wessex polcore 2" washed white with 2mm float glass, 25mm boarder of Aqadia 'minuet' mountboard, framers points hold the package together. Box is just a four sided tray 1 1/2" deep...

Re: Iraq & Afgan medals
Bit more info about the Iraq, Afgan medals, blue and white ribbon is ISAF Medal(International Security Assistance Force). Coin next to it is UK Aviation Detachment. Medals along the bottom are General Service Medals for Air Operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, and again in Iraq, last two are Queens gold...

Re: Iraq & Afgan medals
Hi all, yes the one in the background is part of a frame i did of my great grand fathers Boer war medals, regimental badge and tunic button. Badge and button are not original. Searched many antique fairs for those. QSA has battle clasps for Belmont, Moder River, Orange Free State and Traansvaal. Sha...

Iraq & Afgan medals
Dont know if this is unusual but i'm pleased with my first attempt at a deep box frame. Customer wanted the front removable so he could polish the medals if they tarnished, and could I leave a space in the middle for two more medals that were in the post. Luckily they came before I finished. Oh, and...

Dust specks under the glass
Is it only me, or do you lot also have trouble with specks of dust under the glass. Drives me bonkers when Ive spent so much time making sure everything is spotless. I spend a lot of time making sure the converted garage into a workshop is dust free, but the number of times Ive turned the frame pack...

adverts
Hi all,
Just been phoned by thompson local about setting up a web advert for my area (colchester)around £200. Would'nt know where to start, pictures, wording all that sort of stuff. I run a very part-time business so do you reckon £200 per year would be worth it.? Anybody else use thompson.?

Re: some RAF medals for the new year
Mikey, at long last I've reframed my great grandfathers Boer war medals,QSA and clasps, KSA and clasps, regimental badge and tunic button. Changed just about everything from the original, put the ribbon on the KSA the right way round this time, and the Kings head facing you,and changed the mountboard...

Re: morso pushing
Hi all, Something I have noticed with Wessex mouldings is the outside face of the moulding and the bottom face are not quite square so that when you pull the moulding against the guide fence and cut the mitre, particularly with deep rebates, and then transfer the moulding onto the underpinner and sit...
