Re: Morso F, Cassette 88, Keencut Gold for sale
The Morso and underpinner are still for sale. I need to shift them soon so will consider all offers. They are both in very good working condition. Only had light use age for the 5 years I've owned them. Not sure if their actual age but they go on forever. Spare blades for the morso included Some spa...

Re: Morso F, Cassette 88, Keencut Gold for sale
Hi, it's not had much use by me - part time framer. Don't know how much to courier and I wouldn't be confident in it not getting damaged so will have to say collection only.

Re: Multi-aperture double mount help please
There was some advice about this a while ago on this site - think it may have been from Robo. On the bottom (window) mount draw pencil lines that extend to the edges of the board for all the apertures. Cut. Stick smaller 2nd mount as usual, but you can now see the lines from 1st cut. Add 5mm, or how...

Large poster
Hi, I've had an enquiry about framing a poster 1.7m square. No glass. I am wondering if there is a dry mount and lamination option for this size. (I don't think hot press do a machine this size, unless it can be done in 2 halves?) Or any other ideas please?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Pinning tall narrow mouldings
I don't have a catalogue in front of me, but assuming it is bare wood and going to be finished in some way (stain/paint/wax etc) then I would try drilling and nailing in at the sides - with smallest nail you can get - then fill the slight hole, sand and finish. Use wire cutters/pliers to cut the hea...

Re: Dust removal
I don't always tape the package up, but I have started to put the lot together face up - as per advice on this forum (search 'flumbs' - lots of advice and amusing anecdotes!). With it all face up you can generally see any nasties before pinning. Then pin one side and have a look all is ok - less to ...

Leather effect finish
Just trying to get a leather effect finish on a flat moulding (r&h pw203 Obeche) can't get it looking quite right, saw PB doing it perfectly on a course -at the FATG - didn't write up notes and can't remember how it was done.
Can anyone give a heads up as to what to do pls.
Many thanks.

I went to the FATG event - very good. Pete was on top form with loads of practical demonstrations and advice. If you want to have a go, look at the thread by NYAF recently and book onto the 2 days in April. You will get loads of ideas and inspiration, and a great 2 days away!

Re: GCF qualification
Thank you for starting this thread. I started my framing business nearly 3 years ago, have been on several courses - some of which have been better than others, learnt a lot on the job, received valuable and timely advice from members of this forum, read various books and articles in order to develo...

Re: Help needed framing a poster please
Hi, I am by no means an expert, but for what it's worth.... If the client was agreeable, I would dry mount the poster so it is stable and flat, then use 'econospace' or something similar to create a space away from the glass. - very this strips of mountboard that are hidden under the rebate and stuc...

Re: putting everything up for sale
Hi David,
Sorry to hear you are getting out of the framing game. Hope all works out for you in any new ventures you have.
If you decide to split the items I would be interested in the tape wetter/dispenser, and maybe the mouldings and paint/waxes.
Regards
Gus

Thank you, misterdiy I think it is a complete moulding rather than having a slip added.
Thanks Robo, I will get a sample and have a look, it looks about right.
