Re: Large Laminated World Map to stick down anyone ?

See if you can find a local printing company that can stick it onto dibond for you, it's a far better surface than mdf for big stuff but it will add to the cost, which might in turn scare the customer away? No bad thing sometimes:)

Re: wanted high rebate supportsd for morso

^^^^^
This is fine if the moulding is flat, if not it's back to the drawing board (or search for the high supports)

Re: Workshop or Shop?

I would say you should build it on your own property if possible, I built my garage/workshop about 8 years ago. Wasn't exactly cheap or easy but it was surprisingly good fun. I have pictures but can't remember how to make them small enough to pop on here .....it's 7.25m2 ........just wish now I'd we...

Re: Fletcher framemaster point gun

Are you 100% sure you have the block the right way round? The G should be at the top when using glaziers points, the F when using framers points. The framers points will fire either way though

Re: press mounting oil on canvas.....

As has already been said, pva onto a board, I'd use hardboard, plus foam, (exercise mats are good) in the press with no heat, oh and release paper too.

Re: Frame and wooden slip method

Indeed Robo, more holes is what I should have said, I wasn't trying to criticise though as I used the framers point/staple method for many years before discovering the canvas offsets

Canvas offsets would be my choice, saves making any holes in the canvas

Re: Urgently needing deep rebate frame

Unique mouldings in Cambuslang have an unfinished moulding profile that would possibly work although it's possibly(almost certainly) a bit too big for the morso http://www.unique-wholesale.co.uk/384-p-w-100mm-plainwood-fluted-moulding/ Or Holroyds might have something that could help? http://www.fwh...

Re: Bench guillotine & foot operated underpinner for sale

Is it a table mounted guillotine for frame chopping?
A bench end guillotine for board cutting?
Or(I'm hoping) a guillotine for chopping benches?

Re: Keencut - Poor Customer Service

Another positive experience here, I simply asked them about the poly bushes on my ultimat gold, just checking the price/availability in case I ever needed them, couple of days later a set pop through my door FOC, can't get better service than that :)

Re: Cassese stacked wedges going in at a slant

Too close to the back, the wedges are V shaped and open up as they are stacked, avoid being too close to the back edge and put less there than at the front

Re: Cutting Narrow Slivers/Strips of Glass

1.Measure 2. Cut glass and backing 3. Cut mount and backing mount to size(exact same size as 2) 4. Cut mount and attach job 5. Clean glass and tape package 6. Cut and join frame 7. Assemble There should be no difference between mount/backing/glass sizes no matter the order you cut them in, that way ...
