Hi there
I was wondering whether anyone could help me please. I am framing a picture with 3mm Acrygard acrylic from Centrado with UV protection. Would anyone be able to tell me whether the side with the blue film or the pink film faces out?
Many thanks for any help.

Re: Hinging plasticised pictures
Thanks very much - I've not seen these before. Do you put them on all 4 sides of the artwork just at the bottom and sides?

Re: Hinging plasticised pictures
Thanks very much but I am not exactly what you mean by sink mount. Is this where you make a collar out of foamboard or mount board exactly the size of the picture and insert it in there?

Hinging plasticised pictures
Hi Fellow Framers I wonder if anyone could give me some advice please. I have 2 limited editions lithographs but printed on a sort of plasticised material (like the material used for 'plastic canvasses). Gummed hinging tape doesn't stick to it. I want to use something that is reversible because of t...

Re: Frame bowing - any advice please?
Thanks Mark and Jonathan for your replies - it's very kind of you. The issue is that the moulding isn't really strong enough for the weight of the artwork - my fault for not thinking of it before really. When you say a sub frame - do you just mean a frame that fits into the current frame? So would I...

Frame bowing - any advice please?
Hi there I wonder if anyone can help please? I have to frame a map which is 130 x 100cm and I've had it bonded onto foamex and covered it with acrylic. However the frame that the customer has chosen is bowing, even with the relatively light weight of this. I don't really want to go back to the custo...

Framing a scratch map
Hi there I wonder if anyone can help me with advice on mounting a scratch map please. It is on a plastic base rolled up in a tube. I clearly can't dry mount on a hot press and I am concerned about mounting on adhesive board as, putting pressure on the front surface may inadvertently scratch off some...

Re: Scuff marks on coloured board
No, it wasn't scuffed before I cut it. I cut it face down on my Keencut so it must have been the process of rotating it. It's annoying as it's my last piece in that colour!
Oh well!

Scuff marks on coloured board
I have just cut a mount on a dark blue board, but whilst it was face side down it got 'scuffed' so now has some marks on it. Any tips for removing or disguising these without having to redo the mount (and potentially have the same thing happen again).
Thanks for any advice

Re: Displaying a glass panel with images
Hi there I am probably not explaining it very well, but this issue is - how do I attach the glass panel (the item that needs to be displayed) to the mount board? I maybe could glue it on but then I would be concerned as to how well it would stick and whether the glue would damage the object? Do you ...

Displaying a glass panel with images
Hi there I wondered whether anyone could help me with an object I am being brought to frame. It is a glass panel with images in it - approx 80cm by 80cm and 6mm thick. The client would like it in a box frame with white mount board in the background. What I need help with is how to invisibly attach t...

Re: Attaching coins to mount board
I really like the melinex idea and have gone away and started to do this straight away. All is fine until I get to putting the melinex 'legs' through the mount board. I am not sure whether it is because it is a 50 p piece, but when I try to tighten the legs and position the 50p correctly it doesn't ...

Attaching coins to mount board
Hi
I am doing a montage of football memorabilia and one of the items is a 50p coin. I plan to do a square aperture for it as I can't do the 50p shape! How should I attach the coin to the mount board? Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Re: Price for framing a rugby shirt in a box frame & best me
Hi there Thanks for all the advice. I must admit that I am not looking forward to doing the shirt. I have only done one before and it was a while ago. I am not entirely clear how to sew the shirt onto the mount board. Obviously I need to get the needle to come from the back, through the back of the ...

Re: Price for framing a rugby shirt in a box frame & best me
Thanks for the advice.
Does Mrs D actually sew the rugby shirt onto the mount board, do you know? Isn't it very difficult to get the needle all the way through the piece of mount board at the back?
Thanks again.
