Re: Morso paint anyone ?
Hi Colin Are people called Colin more concerned with appearances ?? Just a thought. Well the problem is kindha sorted - we have a definitive supply offer from MORSO of the correct paint to do the job. Trouble is it has a price - a very high one. Me - well I am working on an alternative and it looks ...

Re: The Left Fence a solution ??
Well, that is probably a bit more accurate, but how about replacing the length of moulding with a 1metre (or longer) steel rule - that won't bend as much as a piece of moulding, so would be more repeatable. Works a treat - I now have no worries about adjusting ad infinitum now. Pete at Framers Equip...

Re: Morso paint anyone ?
Hi Well, the paint saga has finally drawn to a close ! For one the Morso is painted using a two part formula and is a HAMMERED finish which I am not sure is available in a mix to order in Homebase or B&Q. And for the second reason I have heard from Morso . . . read on . . . Pete of Framers Equip...

Re: Lack of Stickies
At the risk of adding another post slightly off topic... I do have the manuals, but that was not my original point, more to seek information from professional users of the equipment with tips and advice. I know it has helped me browsing the forum, but it would also help if the info was collated into...

The Left Fence a solution ??
Hi I am relatively new to framing (4 years) so have struggled with a secondhand Morso and other equipment in getting things working correctly. One of the problems with a lot of the machinery is the lack of precision (not accuracy) with which one can set guides etc. I solved this on my Keencut Gold b...

Re: Lack of Stickies
OK I see now - well sort of, I think for the Oracle to work it should be absolutely clear that it is a resource of information. Most of us using the web are used to little square (or oblong) boxes at the left or right of a forum being adverts (it is under one for Facebook after all) so to me it is n...

Re: Wessex Samples
Hmmm in a very small way this is similar to why I have changed envelope suppliers (see previous post). I am not sure that charging for samples is a good idea at all, nor the idea that your customers will not mind (see above post). Most of the mouldings are available from most suppliers, so guess it ...

Re: Lack of Stickies
John Would love to, just a question of time, I paint all day and frame in the evenings so not a lot of that commodity around ATM - but I will give it some thought as it is so fresh in my mind now. Jan - Pete has a been a great help and I will bear it in mind - sadly I am in Scotland, so the prospect...

Re: Wessex Samples
Yes I couldn't agree more, we have had this conversation before, (my wife and I) several times - it basically starts - "Do they want us to buy from them - or not?" I used to deal with about 5 different companies for moulding, now it is down to one - for 99% of my supplies. And I have just ...

Lack of Stickies
This may be a shot in error or even in the dark, but are there any stickies ?? I think it would be great for all of us fairly new to framing itself, to be able to find (for example) - 1. How to set up a Morso, 2 How to adjust a Morso, 3. How to calibrate a Keencut Gold etc etc. There are several thr...

Re: Morso paint anyone ?
Paint it black ??
Considering my workshop that would be a nightmare, I would never see it - it is a squeeze everytime I get to use it. So gold is the only other possible or luminous - now there is a thought.
Still puzzled it is not a list item
back to work
Cheers

Re: Morso paint anyone ?
Prospero Thanks for the idea knowing my daughters' penchants for glitter (which always seems to appear on your face whilst getting ready to go and see a client) I am sure it would end up very posh ! No, I just want it to be neater than it is - it was secondhand and I have polished bits back from the...

Re: Morso paint anyone ?
Hi and thanks I have been given Pete's details by Morso - Pete says that he will have to contact Morso direct - just seems to be a long process as I had already done that. I asked on here to see if anyone else had found some another way :( Not that I am impatient or anything ! Just filling in an idl...

Re: Morso paint anyone ?
Hi
Thanks for that - I have some of that paint here - your Morso may be a different colour than mine as mine is definitely not Dark Green - it is a kind of paler green than the Hammerite.
Some time ago they used to do a pale green, but not anymore
Thanks for the help
Colin

Morso paint anyone ?
Hi
I have searched endlessly to find some paint to touch up a scratched Morso F.
Even emailed Morso direct, but is taking ages - anyone know of where I can get some - or if any other paint will do ??
Thanks in advance

Re: Keencut Ultimat Gold - vertical blade catching
Hi I read this post with interest, as my first attempts with the Keencut left me exasperated. I found the overcut/undercut ruler measurements not fine enough to calibrate accurately and my vertical blade catches occasionally. So here are two images - one shows the adjustment rules that I now use (ju...

Re: Calling all Morso experts - help pls!
WOW ! Thanks prospero - simples ! Very clearly explained, thanks for your time. I take it that by pressure you mean - on the underpinner - which will mean adjusting the head acutely for each moulding height. I tend to leave it on the same setting. You learn by your mistakes ! I am a little loathe to...

Calling all Morso experts - help pls!
Hi I am a newbie to this forum, but have been framing for a few years. I need to answer a few vexing problems, please bear with me, I have searched but could not find answers to these. I use a Morso and a Cassese underpinner, I have never been to a framing class. 1. When I come to make the last corn...
