Moulding search

Hi all,

Anybody know where I can find this moulding, or something very similar?

It measures 15mm deep x 25mm across the face.

I've searched through the Centrado, Lion and Larson Juhl catalogues, but no luck so far...

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers,

Gary

Framing a book

Hi all, I have a client who wants a book framed. They want it in a reasonably deep box frame, so that it sits away from the glass. My question is, how do I stop the book from opening without sticking all the pages together? Also, is there any such thing as a little ledge to sit the book on within a ...

MDF Photo Blocks

Hi all,

Lion used to supply black edged photo blocks for mounting prints on to... they don't seem to have them now though.

Does anybody know of a supplier for black edged photo blocks at all?

TIA

Moulding Needed Urgently!

Hi, Can anyone help me please?! I'm desperately trying to get some moulding to complete a job for a client who has to submit their work to a gallery for a major exhibition by the end of next week. My usual supplier (Centrado) is out of stock for at least 2 weeks and Larson Juhl are proving to be imp...

Hi, I have a client that needs an aperture mount measuring 140 x 125cm! i can't cut anything that big here, does anybody know of anyone that can cut a mount that big? the aperture size will need to be 120 x 105cm, effectively giving 10cm mount borders. Morso F problem!

Help!

The spring on our Morso F has just broken... and I've got loads of framing to get done!

Where's best to find an engineer for one of these?

We're just outside Cambridge, UK.

Cheers.

Re: Large Aperture Mounts

The size given is the overall size with 6" borders.

Yes, transportation would be an absolute nightmare, certainly get your point there!

The biggest I have been able to find is 1500 x 1000mm (59" x 39.25" approx).

So the client has had a price for that and we'll see what happens!

Large Aperture Mounts

I have a requirement for an aperture mount 72 x 48".

This is bigger than I can cut, has anybody got any recommendations of a company to use for this please?

Framing 2 pieces of glass!

Help! I've had a client come in with an old 'bill of sale' that he wants framed. He would like it between 2 pieces of glass so that he can see the front and the back, and he doesn't want a mount. He is adamant that he doesn't want an acrylic sandwich as he really doesn't like them, he wants 2 pieces...

Re: Hardwood joining problem

Hi Prospero

Thanks, that works a treat, great advice, will save time and the job will look so much better not having to use filler. Thanks again, have a good day.

Re: Hardwood joining problem

Thanks for all replies. Have already cut most of the frames, but will try your suggestions of the last 2 still to cut. Have resharpened blades just returned from Lion so will change them as well. Must say though that the joints fit snug before underpinning, but take all you previous experience/knowl...

Re: Hardwood joining problem

Sorry forget to add the gap is greatest at the inside corner, but runs up to the outside diminishing as it goes, the vertical joint is perfect though!

Re: Hardwood joining problem

Hi

Thanks for reply.

Square profile moulding, 20mm face, 15 mm deep, in oak. Wedges are 7mm deep,1st wedge closer to inside edge(3-4mm gap) 2nd wedge another 6 mm away, no stacking. Can get around by using filler but never like doing that, not a good move.

Hardwood joining problem

Hi, I'm trying to join an oak moulding (something I've done many times!) but for some reason even with Hardwood Inmes wedges I'm still getting a horrible gap in the join. Any ideas how to stop it? I've even tried putting the soft wood wedges in, just to give it a try, that didn't work either (didn't...
