Double Mitre Saw advice
we would like to invest in a double mitre saw but we don't have space for that AND our trusty Morso. We are led to believe that you cannot get a good clean cut on thin mouldings like 12mm wide stuff on a double mitre saw so we would have to have a Morso to cut these. Has anybody got some experience ...

Re: LARGE! frame
(c) The artist wants anti-reflective UV acrylic – does anyone know a source with sheets big enough? you can try Amari Plastics. We buy Acryglas XT AR master sheets 3m x 2m and get them quartered to make them a managable size. Not sure what thicknesses they do over and above the standard 2mm. Contac...

Re: I never knew ...
The verison thay previously had didn't work as effectively as it could for example, links from the individual mouldings only took you to the section and not the right page. This version is completely new using different software and works very well. They appear to have also improved some of the imag...

Re: pricing
Welcome to the Forum My first suggestion is to ensure you add overheads to your material costs before doing any margin addition. Labour is likely to be your most expensive cost and that certainly must be factored in. Oh, and be realistic about how long each job is likely to take as underestimating t...

Re: What makes a good picture framing website?
You need to be clear on what you want your site to do. I cannot impress, as a few above have said, how important it is to get this right before starting out planning, designing and spending time and money on it. In our case, for example, we are an online picture framing business - no gallery, no sho...

Re: Leaflet Drops
Like any marketing spend you should have a method to measure Return on Investment (RoI). One of the best ways of doing this is with a redemption mechanic that identifies the specific promotion, in your case, the flyer. It doesn't matter what is the consumer incentive as long as it ensures they bring...

I have a customer who wants a close match for this. I have checked Arqadia, Simmons and Ashworth & Thomson but cannot find anything similar. Any thoughts out there?

Re: Starting out..... help needed!
If you get a request for a multi-aperture mount or any other mount that will take ages to do, let us know and we can knock it up on our CMC for you. That way you can concentrate on the things that you can tur around in a sensible time.

Re: CMC cutting in East Anglia and beyond
Jon. To be honest it was quite difficult. We feel there are real pros and cons of each of the two main players. The Gunnar has the advantage of fully auto head alignment and head switching so you can do both bevel and straight cuts without changing cutting heads. With the Wizard you have to manually...

Re: which way up?
The purpose of my post was to point out that consumers at large don't necessarily think the way we might. If you promote picture frames on the internet you might list a frame as '8x10 picture frame' but that isn't necessarily what a UK consumer might type into a search engine when looking for one. T...

which way up?
If I were to say to you ' I want a frame 20" x 30" ' which orientation would you think it is?
This is actually a serious question because of the way Google works on certain product searches. Let's see if we think the same way as consumers!

wastage
I have read a few topics on this forum discussing the amount of wastage that should be factored into pricing and there seems to be quite a wide variation in opinion. Has anyone actually objectively measured and recorded over a period of time the waste generated on items like moulding, glazing, backb...
