Re: URGENT- Please check this site- Re Copyright
Don't forget to send them an invoice now they've accepted liability -- a £35 invoice if you put a little bit of pressure on them may get paid

Re: URGENT- Please check this site- Re Copyright
Make sure you screenshot the page before sending your sieze and decist notice. Copyright claims are notoriously expensive to run, so probably not a grea route if they refused. Personally, I would send them an invoice by registered post for the use of the work along with your letter. Or i'd be tempte...

Unpeel acrylic?
If a customer purchases a custom frame (no printing or framing, just the frame)... do you unpeel the acrylic before dispatching or allow the customer to do it?

Re: cheap canvas wrap
You're not necessarily saving much money with MDF tbh. You can get excellent discounts on orders as little as £500 if you shop around -- then when you factor in the labour involved in slotting the finger jointed stretcher-bars together versus cutting & underpinning the MDF it's probably not wort...

Re: cheap source of old canvases
Personally, I would recommend practicing with printed canvas -- this way you can practice stretching the canvas straight, especially important if the customer doesn't want the image wrapped around.

Re: Cutting mountboard without marking it?
It's when cutting apartures thats causing problems. I think you need to get yourself a wee training course as its obvious you have little in the way of framing knowledge :? I agree! I'm hoping to at some point but i'm sooo busy at the moment. I've been primarily framing canvas' so really trying to l...

Re: Cutting mountboard without marking it?
I was using a sheet of MDF lined with plastic stuff. I think i'm mishandling it. Taking more care now and seems to be a bit better. I did though yesterday buy a rubber cutting mat.... but when using a 45o blade to punch out the aparture it either: never cut through the mount properly OR when it did ...

Re: So you've cut a sheet of glass when you realise its to b
I purchased this:

Looks tacky, but works an absolute treat for slicing sheets and keeping a straight line!
What does HTH mean?

So you've cut a sheet of glass when you realise its to big..
Okay... so you've just taken care cutting your glass when you realise its 5mm too wide.... 1) is there anyway of rectifying this ? I did try cutting to glass again but obviously braking the scored line isn't as easy for 5 mm and the glass cracks veeeery easy when trying. Is there a technique or am I...

Re: Cutting mountboard without marking it?
The marks are scuff lines and surface marks (hard to explain). I've even layered a sheet of foam under it to protect it from the surface but keep getting marks. Lights and ivory end up looking grubby!
Maybe i'm just mis-handling it and need to wear gloves as mentioned for when moving it about.

Re: Minimum order charge
Rather than imposing a minimum order value on orders, just bottom a bottom line on smaller orders. So if forexample an item would usually cost £15, set a minimum rate of £20 so the price is now £20. Otherwise your customer will have to purchase something else and probably spend alot more money than ...

Re: Website hosting advice
Backup services is usually part of a hosting package. There is also usually a backup facility for your databases incase the worst happens. I have a few resellers who use a content management script I provide. Its a Windows based script works with a main 'header' file and you create 'body' files and ...

Re: What makes a good picture framing website?
I once tried the scheme you refer to, not because I needed a website but because I was curious and found it wasn't great at all. You will find it difficult to build a decent, non-repetitive website there. You may aswell start with your own hosting and domain otherwise you will end up changing in a f...

Re: Glass & sheet cutting
Maybe i'm getting my technique wrong then. I'm trying to cut mirrored glass. A 36x 24 sheet, tried trimming a 24 x 16 piece. First attempt with oil filled diamond cutter, second attempt wheel thing -- each time it would end as a bit of an S style cut :) after tapping along the score. Watched some yo...
