Re: Morso F for sale

The Morso is for sale still. There have been several enquiries, photos supplied, and even some appointments to view which have been neither kept nor cancelled. No-one has come to see it yet! To quite from an earler post: If interested either request digital photos by emailing me at pjrw08 (at) yahoo...

Re: Morso F for sale

In a nutshell, the Morso is still for sale. The reason has nothing to do with the Morso itself - no-one has seen it yet. If interested either request digital photos by emailing me at pjrw08 (at) yahoo.co.uk or, better still, phone for an appointment to view on 02920 799837 - daylight hours preferred...

Re: Morso F for sale

Thanks for your interest Keiran. The Morso will have to be photographed outside (no space indoors) and I will do that tomorrow (Monday) if the rain has stopped as expected!

Morso F for sale

Having become accustomed to being retired I will not be needing my foot-operated Morso mitre guillotine any more, so it is for sale. It has been well looked after and is in good condition and the sale includes an extra set of blades and the right-hand measuring arm. I am asking £500 - no offers than...

Ashworth & Thompson Moulding wanted

In fairness I think I had better leap to the defence of Ashworths here: They send me lists of discontinued mouldings - so why not you John (Merlin Framers)? I should have a friendly word if I were you.

Wire

Osgood wanted to know why I use wire for small frames and cord for almost everything else. I find cord easier and more comfortable to use, except on small frames where I want to achieve a greater degree of accuracy - allowing a bit of slack in the wire while still ensuring that the hanging device on...

Wire

Have used Lion's best cord for as long as I can remember, mainly numbers 2 and 3, but sometimes number 5 for really big frames. Super Softstrand wire used on almost all frames up to about 10 inches x 12 inches (25 x 30cm). Have just looked at some of my frames at home here which were made around 7-8...

FRAMERS WITH GOOD WEB SITES

When you need a good professional web designer then nothing else will do and the good ones are worth their money. All I am saying is that a lot of would-be website owners don't need to spend anything from £100 to £300-£400 or more per page on their first web site when a competent brochure site can b...

FRAMERS WITH GOOD WEB SITES

Not much point in having a beautiful web site if no-one can find it. I have just done two quick searches on Google, using the following key phrases... picture framer uk picture framing uk ...and only ONE of the sites in the UK list shown above appeared in the first 100 results, namely frames.uk.com ...

It's unprofessional, ungrammatical and unnecessary.

How much?!

My original specification came to £59 for the 20in x 16in frame. For a 30 x 24in frame to the same spec it would be £97 (the only variable being the frame size - for the sake of comparing like with like. In practice I would probably use a stronger moulding on the larger frame, adding £3-£5). My pric...

How much?

Anyway, to the point. I generally cost framing by adding up the cost of materials and then adding a markup of around twice that much with a discount for trade custmers. I haven't a clue whether or not that's an appropraite markup but it was a suggested method on one of the framing courses I attende...

Floater frames etc.

Have been looking for information about floater frames and panel frames of which I have no experience. Although both are supposedly intended to take original art I am a bit mystified about the methods of securing the paintings. So far, the only method I have seen for securing a canvas is by screws t...

Picture Business Forum

So, The Picture Business has a forum. So what? Surely it is to be expected that any commercial concern might see a forum as a useful addition to its marketing efforts - in this instance (TPB) more subscribers and advertisers to both the forum and the magazine eventually. I would have preferred them ...

How soon can you have it?

Just needed clarifying Roboframer - no apology required.

Oh. and by the way, I gathered from an earlier post that your wife is pretty formidable. So DON'T take it out on her whatever you do. She might come after me !!

How soon can you have it?

Foxyframer, I like your style. The last three lines of your post say it all. "Work to live" say I, not the other way round. What is the point of being the richest man in the graveyard? Roboframer, what on earth makes you think that I was seeking to advise you in particular, or anyone else ...
