Framing equipment For Sale

I'm selling my Morso-F machine & 3M Charnwood underpinner (plus other accessories e.g. moulding stand/glass/wooden blade box/back shute/morso guard ect). I've kept the morso/underpinner in storage since moving from Leicestershire to Herefordshire back in 2015, so have not used it for 3 years. I ...

Re: Shorter Measuring rular for Morso

Love the wine cellar with your morso - you have your priorities right :D Unfortunately we have found out that the house we are buying has a sewer easement in the garden and that is why we can not buy a large shed 10 x 12 :sweating: as you have to move the shed if they want to do work on the sewer in...

Re: Shorter Measuring rular for Morso

 I love the comment cut a whole in your shed - brilliant (that's 'thinking outside of the box' albeit a shed). Thanks for all your suggestions. I've gone outside, yet again, to have another look at my morso. I think I've come up with good solution. I can remove the long rular section (and not ...

Re: Shorter Measuring rular for Morso

At this moment in time, I feel like doing that, but it will devalue the morso :sweating: It's sod's law, I've just had another look on the scale and the two sections of rular split into two pieces at 50 cm. Actually, thinking about it, what would be good is if I could get an unwanted morso rular fro...

Shorter Measuring rular for Morso

Does anyone know if I can get a shorter measuring scale rular for my morso? It is driving me mad, as we are moving house and I will have to buy a long shed to accommodate the morso :? and if anyone has any ideas (apart from sawing it), I would be so grateful. The maximum size of frame I cut is 20 x ...

Re: glue problem help!

You are correct, can't get the glue off :head: I've smoothed some black bison over it and this has helped. Thank goodness that my neighbour didn't mind, as he got the frame for cost price. Will remember in future not to stick the glue to my fingers!!! will wear gloves in future. Thanks for all your ...

glue problem help!

I've just framed a synthetic moulding (black) using Bondloc (and the spray). Unfortunately I got a bit of glue on my finger and it has marked the black frame. Does anyone know of any solution where I can wipe this glue off?

Many thanks

Re: gilding problems

Thanks for letting me know - I can stop 'tearing my hair out now' with frustration!!! :head: . I'll save up and get some real gold and lock the kids out the house whilst I hold my breath and gild. The next problem is the finishing effect of paint (but one stage at a time). I will take a photo of the...

Re: gilding problems

thanks for your help. I'll have a go with alcohol but I wonder what the mixture is? Do you know if you can burnish imitation gold as when I try to get the creases out, it breaks up.

gilding problems

Help! I've had a go at gilding but am having trouble with the actual gild 'sticking' to the bole. I'm presently using imitation gold. I am able to place the imitation gold on the bole using water and a bit of rabbit skin glue (which has been prepared with 10:1 water/glue). I do notice that the gold ...

Re: Gesso problems

Thanks for all your suggestions. I put the spray gun in the oven this afternoon to warm it up before trying out spraying again. I was so engrossed in mixing up the glue that I forgot about the gun and put the roast dinner on!!! nearly roasted my spray gun as well. Anyway after adding a wider pipe to...

Re: spraying gesso

Thanks for your suggestion. I'll have a go with my pump first with the shorter lead. If this does not work then I'll go for the 50 litre compressor. I'm determined to sort this out. I'll try out the RSG mix as well. Next step is gilding (gulp!!!!). Many thanks to you and everyone who has responded, ...

Re: spraying gesso

Brilliant idea, I'll try that as the spray gun is cold. My husband had a look at the spray gun and compressor last night and actually took a knife to it. Well in a good really and replaced the narrow bore tubing and replaced it with a short wider tube. Will feed back shortly to let you know the outc...

Re: spraying gesso

Thanks for your suggestion. I will try and get hold of another compressor. You are right, my compressor is really noisy. The gesso I am using is made up from rabbit glue and whiting. I even filtered it to remove bits (using one of my kids vests!!!). I've contacted the spray gun company to see if it ...

spraying gesso

Help!! I'm trying to spray my obeche wood frames with gesso paint. I have purchased a spray gun but can not get it to work correctly (it is spraying out the gesso, then stops and then sprays out more paint again). The paint ends up splattered in watery pools rather than neatly layered on. I've also ...

Re: cutting hardboard

Hi Jim Happy New Year to you. Blimey that was a quick response. I'll have a go with your suggestion - thank you (as my garage is so full up with equipment now, I'll have to lose the Xmas pounds to fit in!!!). I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks for the recent moulding - brilliant for practising (...
