Re: WHY DID I SELL MY LION "GLASS SAFE" ???

feeling very worthy now : i take all my glass bits to the recycling centre once the bin gets to the 'can-hardly-lift-it' point.
:star: !

all the left over board goes into the weekly recycling collection - but i do also encourage the local schools and craft groups to collect whatever board off cuts ...

guilty secret ...

i have developed a sinful dependency on mitre mate / bond loc / call it what you want. i'm sure it's not big or clever. however, i wondered if anyone had a similar habit and whether they had formulated any 'rules' for the use of this stuff.

has anyone got any tips in locating a supplier who can cut to order acrylic sheets for large posters i need to frame?

i'm thinking some jobs are so big that, for a poster or map, it sometimes might be easier to go with this option over handling such large pieces of glass. i'm in somerset ...

Re: suppliers

Hello again Calico!

I find that a combination of Lion plus a local supplier is working really well for me.

I build up a group of orders to make sure I hit the £50 minimum moulding order. That means that I can offer a really wide range of mouldings without actually stocking them. And it means I ...

Re: Poster framing

As one newby to another (did my first posters just a few months ago) I would recommend you stay away from float mounting - I find it very hard to get a totally smooth finish on the paper, and you can't go back. Also, it is incredibly hard to achieve a perfectly even edge. Seriously. It looks simple ...

when does glass become too heavy?

hello everyone

i have to frame a full-size OS map but the client wants "thinnest moulding possible".

is there a scientific method for working out glass weight to moulding width? at what point do i opt for acrylic?

any wise words gratefully awaited!

Ceramic baby footprints?

Hello

New member posting for first time ... Only one week into picture framing as a career and I've landed a job somewhat less than straightforward (to me, at least).

I've been asked to frame some baby footprints, which have been pressed into some kind of homemade clay or dough and then painted ...
