Re: Glass vs Acrylic

I would always choose glass although it might depend on the actual figures.

Re: Underpinning narrow float moulding

Not totally sure what you mean, do you have a photo?
Generally pins are there to hold the moulding together while the glue dries, so there's no problem gluing and clamping instead.

Re: Soft wood splitting on Morso F

Are your blades sharpened properly?
Does other moulding cut okay?
Some moulding is just so soft that the back catches and in those instances I will either use a scrap piece of backing board in behind, or keep cutting until I get to a better piece of wood.

Re: Assembling a large mirror 1600x700mm

I haven't done a mirror that size, but I did one around 1m2 that I secured using canvas offsets but in reverse so they were holding the mirror inside the rebate. I put foam bumpers so it wasn't metal resting against glass.

Re: J M Turner

As John says could be to standardise a set although the set has since been separated. Another possibility is that the frame is a standard size and the mount was cut afterwards to fit the frame rather than the frame being made to fit the mount. Before I read your question I noticed the mount edges we...

Re: Keencut futura

Again a photo will probably help.

How big is the overcut?
Is it improving at all if you make an adjustment?
Has it ever been correct?

Re: Keencut futura

We'll need a bit more information and probably photographs to help too.
Are you getting an overcut on all 4 corners, both orientations?
So 8 overcuts in all?
What thickness mountboard are you using?
Are the blades correct and sharp?
Are you using a board underneath to cut onto?

There are only 7000 members so I doubt 2000 of them have seen this topic in 24 hours. Some topics must be showing up on a search engine and then registering as a view even if not relevant to the original search. If you look at members only posts the views are only in the hundreds even for popular to...

Re: Morso Blades

I now have 4 working sets so don't need any spares, and these ones are too short so need a bit of morso adjustment to cut through.

Re: Labels for back of frames

I get stickers for the back of the frames from Discount Stickers Limited. I used to use Vistaprint but they peeled off before the frames were out the door.
I use Moo.com for business cards.

Ideas for old chevrons

PXL_20231222_134852747.jpg
I have this place where old chevrons go to die.

I don't want to throw them out. Any ideas for using them, displaying them, or giving them away?

Re: Morso Blades

Yes, up to 40mm apparently. The majority of my mouldings are this size or less so that shouldn't be a big deal.

Morso Blades

I'm looking for a new set of Morso blades, either new or with plenty of life left in them.

Any suggestions for where to buy?

Has anyone got a double ended set and is it worth paying extra for them to get more time with sharpened blades?

Re: Morso Mitre handle stuck on 13th tooth arc

PXL_20231218_171544648~2.jpg Have a look here, double check nothing is sitting here stopping the blades moving forward. PXL_20231218_171507736~2.jpg I assume you don't have the chute thing as it doesn't look it from your video but double check this rod can move freely back and forward. PXL_20231218...

Re: Morso Mitre handle stuck on 13th tooth arc

It definitely sounds as though something is stuck somewhere. Just have a careful good look around all the moving parts and pieces. Start with the arm and check there is room for it to move further, then follow it to under the blade. Then check the blade can move forward, especially as it meets the m...
