Re: The bevels in the details
At the Framers Forum Live a few weeks ago, Elizabeth Karney of Freedom Framing held a short workshop about finishing bevels. She does do training and she's a very enthusiastic, friendly trainer. I'd give her a go.

South East London Business Premises
Morning everyone I'm currently working freelance for a commercial framer via a connection made through The Framers Forum. I've decided to take the plunge and set up on my own, but I need premises. The going rate for a shop round this part of South East London seems to be about £1,000 a month. Worksh...

Re: framing courses
Have a look at your local adult education classes, you might find they run a course. I did one at my local school last year, 2 hours a week for 5 or 6 weeks. It cost virtually nothing and gave me a bit of a starting point. On the last day, the tutor mentioned that a local art gallery had approached ...

Re: morso mesuring ruler
We sell both styles and when customers first see the metric scale they think it is imperial but it isn't - it is just that the scale is 'spaced out' to allow for the 45 degree bevel so it looks nearer to inches than mm! Takes me back to when I first encountered the 'vernier' scale Morso on the one ...

Interesting how the wife managed to mangle the entire nearside wing without so much as a graze to the 'fender' or that sparkling 'tire' and wheel!
I suppose photoshopping in those days involved a hammer and muscle power.

Seem to be plenty available on eBay Prospero all at reasonable prices. I've got my eye on a couple local to me and here's one that might be good for you.

when I look at the messy attempts I've made at routing with a machine that cost nearly £500, I'm very impressed with your's. I'd better get practicing!

I agree with Roboframer. I think the dog did it a favour.
The best way to frame it would be in one of those tall plastic things that have wheels and lids and are collected weekly by your local authority refuse team.

Thanks guys. I shall have a look inside and try some silicon spray too (I have some silicon powder which I use on the Morso, would that work?). Oh and where am I supposed to squirt it?

I think I'm right in saying that the Co-op were one of the three supermarkets accused of not paying a fair price for their milk, the other two being Asda and Morrisons. If I'm not, I take it back.

Re: Glass Disposal
I had the dubious honour of working for the ludicrous and most bureaucratic of Whitehall departments - the Department for Communities and Local Government. If you look at what they do and then watch Yes Minister you'd think that brainstorming for new ideas involved sitting down with a cup of tea, a ...

Re: Glass Disposal
Sounds like a typically bureaucratic response: "we don't know the answer, so we'll make a decision based on what we'd like the answer to be". The sort of lazy policy making akin to the Treasury blaming a double dip recession on it raining in Skegness on a Tuesday morning in June (ok, maybe...

Re: Glass Disposal
Sandy that you live close to a beach :D I find that lobbing it out of the car window on the M25 rids me of the problem. I got the idea from watching people dispose of their McDonald's wrappers, coke cans, water bottles in a similar manner. It also provides a useful supply of glass for any road users...
