Re: Most Humbling.

Many, many congratulations, on the evidence of a prodigious talent. That, after reading the review, cannot be argued with. :)

Re: Tape

The small one has - definitely

I bought two rolls of similar white tape from my local supplier.
When I received the invoice, I had been charged fro two rolls of white conservation tape, at £22+ a roll.
Upon checking, that's what they were. So they're going back. :D

This sort of photography does well amongst the human species of a different gender.
It could make you a lot of money. Grit your teeth. Ignore the ribald comments you receive on here, and make a million

I cut my lawns on Saturday afternoon Prospero. Just before the recycling lorry arrived. :)
Now, Wednesday afternoon, it doesn't look as if I went anywhere near them. Hip deep in daisies and dandelions

Re: Prints for sale

I have just received my set this afternoon.
A very well packaged delivery. And the content of 90 prints are excellent.
I consider it to be a very well worth buy.

thank you Eric. :)

Time spent with the little fella is worth far more than all the frames not made during the day.
They grow up so quickly; every moment with them is worth treasuring. :)

Thank you each.
I suspect that I may still be asking questions occasionally, and benefiting form your wisdom and experience. :)
But hopefully I would like to be able to contribute positively too.

I joined The Framers Forum approximately three years ago. I asked many questions, as one does when knowing little or nothing about the subject in hand. And received much valuable advice ---- for which I was, and am, immensely grateful. In the interim I have sought to apply what I have learned from t...

Re: Conservation Glass?

I would explain my premise to the customer, as you have done in the initial posting. I would then ask him what type of glass he would like, to set his mind at rest; being diligent in pointing out the cost implications. Then I would follow his instructions accordingly. The job's a good'un  He's ...

Re: Alfa 1M

Yes. Done. It had obviously been run dry for quite some time, by the look and sound of it. When I stripped it down I found the the holes had elongated slightly. So at some point I will make some stainless steel bushes on the lathe and fit them in. For the moment the squeaking has been stopped and by...

Re: Alfa 1M

I was surprised to find, Mark, when I was trying to check out the provenance of the 1M from its serial number, that you can still buy a 1M new, from Anton's for about £600 (presumably + VAT) I considered a CS88, very seriously - it was what I wanted. But the 1M became available, and ....... What I d...

Since I started framing I have had a Morso hydraulic underpinner. There seems to be not many about, which surprised me somewhat. However, following a couple of years using one and constantly having to top up the hydraulic fluid because of leaks from the master cylinder, I can understand why. I presu...
