Re: The Framers Forum
I have been insanely busy the last couple of months. I was in London for a week a couple of months ago and have basically not had a day off since. Anyway while I was in the old dart I ran into a famous framing identity. Can anyone guess who it is?? I probably should come up with a prize for the firs...

Re: Australian Survey
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to fill out the survey. They results are very interesting and it's great to compare framing cultures. We have also had lots of American framers fill out the survey which again is proving to be very interesting. When we have collated all the results we will p...

Australian Survey
Not sure if this is the right place for this but...... The Australian framing industry magazine (Profile) is running a survey in the latest issue. Now the survey is obviously to gather information for the Australian industry but I thought it would be interesting if a few British framers filled it ou...

Must admit we don't pay as much attention to the web site as we could. Or should. But we certainly are still in 'Action'.

Re: Cost of plain 2mm glass in Australia
I don't know what Glass costs in England but would be surprised if there was that much difference. Would love someone to PM me and let me know what framers play for glass up there in Britain.

Re: Calling London framers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbmbMSrsZVQ I dont have the flue. But its no ordinary Cold. Its a man cold. I know 3 or 4 days in bed would fix it but there are frames which need to be built. Its daft I know but how come the people who work for me get sick days but end up just going to work. I figure...

Re: Calling London framers
I know you will all be interested to hear I am suffering from a cold. I have been known on previous occasions when suffering from this life threatening affliction to take a generous measure of whiskey to which is added some lemon juice and a splash of hot water. Last night I administered a version o...

Re: Calling London framers
Thanks for the lead Keith, I will chase it up. But you forgot to mention his drinking habits. Seems this is what my visit is about. I will have to do a bit more research on beer though. It seems I have a couple of worthy teachers over there. Buy the way what does one drink at Royal Ascot if one find...

Kevin did you know Penfold is a famous wine maker in Australia. One of the oldest here started by an Englishman in the mid 19th century.

Re: Calling London framers
Wow you guys really know your beers. For the record XXXX is a Queensland beer and no one in Australia drinks Fosters and only Queenslanders drink XXXX. Thats interesting about Stout. I was in Dublin about a month ago and I would have paid more attention to the dark beer if I had known about the hist...

Re: Calling London framers
Kevin it seems your gallery is about 1 mile from where I will be staying so I will be taking up your offer of a visit. And now I am completely on top of what the weather will be like. Or at least I have a 50% idea of what it might be like.

Re: Calling London framers
Bit partial to hot cup of tea myself. Especially in the work shop where a shot of whiskey and sharp things don't really mix. But on another matter, my wife is a little concerned about what to wear. What will the weather be like in late june? Does she need a coat? Can she wear her silly high heels or...

Re: Calling London framers
Waterloo is certainly within striking distance for me this trip so will be in touch Kevin and will try and catch up.
For the record I like a couple of ice cubes in my whiskey. Not sure if this is proper. I mostly like the way they clink in the glass.

Re: Calling London framers
As Keith says time is pretty limited this trip but I can see I will need to come back and have some in depth discussions on both picture framing and drinking. Sampling some Islay single malt would certainly make the trip to manchester worthwhile. I can see I'm going to get on just fine with English ...

Re: Calling London framers
What's with all this talk of drinking.... Does my reputation precede me?? Now I will partake in most drinks what are offered me, but every time I have been to England for some reason the beer has been warm. Obviously I would rather a cold shandy than a warm beer. Anyway for the record I would mostly...

Re: Calling London framers
thanks for the warm welcome. It sure would be nice to be able to spend a bit of time visiting you all. But, I am kind of stuck in London for the week I will be in England. A friend of mine owns the worlds best race horse and she is running at Royal Ascot. And although I have no interest in horses my...
