Re: An Over Engineered Build
Thanks for the link, it's the one I remember that first got me to use two spaced wall screws to hang heavy pieces.

I'm amazed with your ability to not name and shame the company that told you that those wedges should be off centre? That just not acceptable.

Re: Masking Tape Abomination
Agreed dude but I'm sure people on here aren't foolish enough to go throwing Zest It all over the place with testing a small area first? And yes it's smells great... I degrease the stainless steel oven extractor with it too.

Re: Masking Tape Abomination
I've used a product called Zest It to remove tape with great results, dissolves toheadhesive without damaging the paper.

I hate it when framers try too hard to make something that tries too hard to compete with the art it houses but I actually quite like this dude. You must've been made up when you handed this bad boy over to the customer.

Re: Morso f Set up
How can you possible adjust the fence for every length of moulding you cut? I have to tweak the fence every time I change blades or as the wear but constant tweaking surely isn't the norm is it?

Re: Morso f Set up
I found that if I cut two strips of mdf the same width and about 500mm in length I can square the morso. Lay one strip flat on the right/ measuring arm and cut a mitre then turn it upside down and test how far it is out by laying it against the left hand blade. You can then adjust the fence accordin...

Re: Mountboard Cutter for amateur
I have a Logan 301-1 with added straight cutter that is for sale but I would want more than £30 for it as it is boxed and hardly used. Great piece of kit though.

Re: Why didn't I say no!!
Couldn't you cut a piece of mount board exactly how the moulded case is with the holes cut out too so the coins could sit within and sandwich the lot either side with glass? Hope that makes sense?

Re: CCA Galleries?
Either way for a £1500 print my opinion is whoever framed this made a poor choice in the tape used but more worryingly the technique in how much of tape was used to hinge and how much was applied to the artwork. As a relatively new hobby/ part time framer I find that slightly worrying for the art of...

Re: CCA Galleries?
Thanks for the help dude. I don't like the idea of a tape that instructs the user to not put it any nearer than 40mm to the artwork. Simply just don't like this tape anywhere near artwork that has the potential to increase in value.

All of my stuff is in Con clear and that is one of the lower end prints I've framed lately, the most expensive being £3k. for someone.

Yes it does, the W is on the COA. The prices of Ben Eine art went up when David Cameron gave a Ben Eine canvas to President Obama when he was elected to office.

Re: CCA Galleries?
That why I don't want to leave it on, I have no idea the damage if any it would cause by leaving it on? I've just removed one of the hinges with the zest it and it has left a mark/ water mark where I have applied the solvent. This is meant to evaporate and leave no trace. I tested this on a piece of...

Re: CCA Galleries?
Because this is my person print and don't like the idea of the devils tape across the back of it. If it belonged to a customer I'd be tempted to do as you've suggested though.
