New Workshop inspiration
Hi everyone, I have recently had a big flood in my shop (which isn’t the first time) so I have decided to move and set up without any flats above me. I have found a fairly large unit/warehouse (1200sqft) but I am struggling to visualise how I would like it to look. I do have many ideas in my head bu...

Excalibur 5000 for sale
I am selling our Keencut Excalibur 5000 cutting machine as no longer needed. It is in very good working order and still has a lot of years left in it (Not much can go wrong with this machine) Everything works although I would suggest upgrading the parts around the cutting head (which you can get fro...

Damien Hirst aluminium laminate print
Hi all, I’m looking for a bit of help/advice. A regular customer of mine has purchased a Damien Hirst artpiece and is looking to have it framed. Not normally a problem. However, this piece of art is a laminated giclee on an aluminium panel. He has shown me what he wants, which looks like some sort o...

Re: Van livery/signage
Thanks for your suggestions and ideas, it’s much appreciated.
I did have something similar on my last van but fancied something a bit more fancy, but I do understand it’s all about the simplicity and easyness for the customer to read.
Thanks again

Van livery/signage
Morning all, I have a van for doing deliveries etc but it’s currently blank with no signage etc on it. It seems silly to not have any livery on it as it’s ‘free advertising’ I’m looking for some inspiration before getting the work designed and done. Does anyone have a van with signage that they are ...

Mark’s on white canvas painting
I have just stretched and framed a canvas painting for a customer. He has picked it up and unfortunately while taking it home he had dirty hands....and has parked the canvas with said dirty hands. He has phoned and asked if there’s any special tips to take the marks off? I said I would ask fellow fr...

Re: Gapp canvas stretching machine
Hi Darren,
Thanks for your message.
I would take £600 for it.
Like I say it’s not been used since I bought it and it’s just taking up room so happy to let it go for a great price.
Thanks,
Ian

Gapp canvas stretching machine
I am selling my Gapp canvas stretching machine. I bought it second hand a couple years ago but haven’t even used it once since receiving it. I’ve just been so busy with framing so not had a chance to set it up and play about with it. You can stretch a canvas from start to finish within 30-60seconds ...

Re: Art suggestions for gallery
Some very good information/suggestions there and ones I totally understand and have come across myself. I even had the idea of ‘renting’ out my window and wall space space but decided against it as it gives the artist the idea that they can hang whatever they want and in whatever frame it’s already ...

Re: Art suggestions for gallery
Yes I have in the past offered wall and window space to artists and we agreed on a commission. I would frame their art work whatever way they require and if the artwork sells, we take the commission and frame costs off the total however if the artwork doesn’t sell they have to pay for the framing. I...

Re: Art suggestions for gallery
Hi Mark, Thanks for your reply. I understand what you are suggesting but ‘original artwork by big names artists’ sounds like big bucks to me. I am a framer first and foremost and usually busy enough to keep me going but as I have a retail shop with plenty wall space it makes sense to have something ...

Art suggestions for gallery
Hi All, Looking for some advice on art for my shop/gallery in Aberdeen. During these difficult times I have decided to re-evaluate the way I want to run my business. I have dealt with artwork before which hasn’t always worked but I put that down to stocking the artwork I like instead of what is ‘in’...
