Thanks Rob, I have some of the Simons and it doesn't match well enough. I also have the Lopez foil version and that doesn't match either :(

Re: Another Blade Change

Wow! I seem to have to alter fences a lot lately, so much so that I bought 2 new sets of Morso blades last year. They were fine at first, but I have just put a set on after being sharpened and they aren't 100%. Don't know what the problem is :(

Re: open corners nightmare!!!

I'm suddenly having this problem also, with a 20mm flat black polcore, so much so that I've taken it off the sample board. The corners are awful, some gap at front, some at back and some all the way along! Have just put new blades on morso & wooden mouldings are fine. I too do wonder if the squa...

Re: Why is front of frame fine, but side/rear isn't?

I use a lot of large square section mouldings & often have this problem too. Prospero, you are super helpful, as always! I'm opening a new workshop soon and looking forward to a new underpinner, which I'm hoping will make life easier.

Re: 'Plein Air' frames

'Plein Air' is just a French term for outdoors, so just a posh way for artists to say that they paint outside on location! Don't know why a company has called frames plein air, as these paintings can just be framed the same as anything else would be. There seems to be a trend with artists at t...

Re: recognise this moulding?

Arqadia did the wooden version, it is all one frame and was available in black, white & cream.

Now discontinued though :(

Linen slip help

Hi

Does anyone know of a company other than Arqadia that produce a wide (65mm) white linen scoop slip?

I've been using Arqadia's 157127100 but quality is awful.

Thanks

Heather

I can't use a fletcher. The noise it makes goes right through me, like nails down a blackboard! The Valliani seemed different to a Fletcher

Re: Spring Fair

I enjoyed it, but went specifically to try some new equipment and haggle. My Lancashire charm got me some great discounts :D It's a shame that some of the big suppliers no longer go, but when they have reps servicing (if you pardon the expression!) their customers and showing new stuff out on the ro...

Re: Mountcutter Wars: Keencut v Valliani

Show offer, Valliani £1100, Futura £920 (although I expect to get this down to under £900!) I liked the look of the futura, more modern. They have improved the blade holders and the head, but it almost slides too easily now. I have a bad habit of not using all the stops and found it hard to use this...

Mountcutter Wars: Keencut v Valliani

Hi everyone I'm looking to upgrade my Keencut Ultimat Gold to a 60" cutter. Went to the NEC and tried both a Keencut Futura and a Valliani Astra. I liked them both, the Valliani had the edge for me but wondered if I liked it enought to warrant the extra cost. Does anyone have any preference or ...

I'm going because I want to have a look at some new machinery. I last went a few years ago and was shocked at how small it was. Wasn't impressed at all.

Art Movers & packing

Does anyone use a dedicated art mover? I need to get 2 large paintings (4ft square and 4.5 ft x 3ft) from London to Preston, however would need someone in London to pack them as well.

Re: IKEAAAARGH

We are getting this more and more, so I would actually end up turning a lot of work away if I said no. I must admit it was very frustrating, the week before Christmas when there was a mountain of other stuff to do. One lady only wanted me to recut the ikea mounts that she already had. Took seconds a...

I wrap them in the paper that comes with them, writing the size on too is a genius idea Steve, the smallest things sometimes make the job easier!! :D
