could it be a blown capacitor? I have a planer thicknesser that I thought the motor was gone on but when I turned it upside down the capacitor was quite obviously blown. I found a replacement for around £15 on eBay. Might be worth checking before getting the motor rewound

I don't see why you shouldn't get professional results with a mitre saw and trimmer, it will just be a slower process and take a bit of time and practice. Personally I'd make a feature of selling with your own frames, you can say the whole thing has been made by yourself.

My understanding is that there are a couple of different grants available. One is for self employed people and gives you a percentage of your wage, 70% from memory. This has been available since the November lockdown and was available for 3 months wages, you can apply still until the end of January....

Do you cut mount board to size on your mount cutter? If so you could use kraftboard or artbak as a backing instead of mdf. You could cut glass with a t-square and handheld glass cutter until you can afford a wall mounted cutter

This normally happens to me if the rebate support isn't set exactly to the right height. If there's a slight gap then the wood can bend down with the pressure as it's being cut and end up uneven. It helps to take a tiny slither off on the last cut too.
