Re: New Framr Free
Not yet, but as our annual subscription is due soon we thought it might be the way to go. I've had a play with the free version an so far I'm impressed. What features don't you like as much as the original?

Re: Stanley blades
I’ve used ordinary Stanley blades and the ones specifically for plastic- the results have always been a bit hit and miss, so I bought one of these: https://www.lionpic.co.uk/p/8393/Fletcher-Terry-Heavy-Duty-Scoring-Tool Not cheap, but if you cut a regular amount of acrylic it’s worth it. Easy to use...

Re: Sloping bench for mountcutter
David - I use my Ultimate Gold on a sloping bench which is just 12mm chipboard. I screwed a couple of pieces of wood near the top onto which the mountcutter could sort of 'hang' from its top edge. I also fitted a small timber lip along the bottom edge for extra security, raised up by a few mm to sto...

Re: TRIPPLE ACRYLIC SHIRT FRAME
Very nice job. How are the logos done? Do you print them yourself or who can you get to do this sort of thing? Also, what material are they printed on and how are they applied? Am I right in thinking that you have to assemble all of this when fitting eg. hang and drape the shirt in situ? Sorry for a...

Foxing on print
Hi fellow framers - A customer has brought in a signed David Shepherd print that has a few foxing marks on the paper. It's been framed (maybe by you?!)hinged with archival tape onto barrier board, a conservation grade mount and with a Corricor/Artbak type back. All in all it seems to be a perfectly ...

My Prices Verses Imported Ready-mades
Hi - Just wondering how all you other framers convince their prospective customer that the price you've quoted isn't really that expensive - after you've picked them up off the floor! I've just given a very reasonable price for a largish poster with a mount and, as I don't think they've had anything...

Re: Seminars
All the seminars and demonstrations that I've attended - Spring Fair, Lion Framing Event, Framers Forum Event for example- have all been excellent, and I've learnt a great deal from them, so there's no doubting their value. In fact, most of the areas of interest to me have been covered. Even so, to ...

Thanks for all your suggestions....I went with canvas chris's method of self-adhesive board and it seems to have worked well on this one. Mark.

Canvas with skimpy border
Hi - I've had a photo on canvas in today with an 8mm border and the customer wants all of the image visible. I would normally stretch it onto stretcher bars but as that's not possible I thought about sticking it onto board with PVA. Will this be OK or have you any other ideas (I don't own a press - ...

Window poster
Just had a fellow shop-owner with a couple of vinyl posters that she wants to put in the window back to back. I initially thought of placing them between two sheets of acrylic and hanging them from Lions cable display system. Looking in the catalogue, they seem to have discontinued it, so now what? ...

Re: Inmes wedges
You may be right in that it would likely invalidate your warranty, but my machine is several years old and as I asssume it doesn't have a lifetime guarantee, I was willing to take the risk. I do agree however, that I probably wouldn't use them if the Casese was relatively new. Mark

Re: Inmes wedges
When Lion switched to selling Inmes wedges, I went along with them and began using them in my Casese CS-88. I've had them for many months now in all the different sizes and can honestly say that I've noticed no difference in the quality of the joint or their ease of use. Shame about Personna going t...

Re: Cross stitch
I frame a lot of these and yes, if the cross-stitch is worked too tight you can see the fabric between the stitches. Don't worry, there's nothing you can do about it and if the customer was happy you're obviously doing something right. Mark.
