Re: Ideas for text
Use InDesign to have more control over the text layout. But if Word is all you have then copy/paste into a text box. You can use the justify settings to level the left and right sides. This will square off the body of the text and look much better in an aperture. Far better than just being left just...

Re: 40x30" print. Perspex or glass?
A small note regarding perspex/acrylic. It expands a lot more than glass. So ensure there is breathing space in the rebate. The workshop done work for a client in Ibiza, left the the UK fine but once in the warmer climate the very large acrylic sheets expanded so much that they popped all the corner...

Re: Reversibility
This a conversation one should have with the customers/clients. Keeping examples of reversed techniques is good practice. Allows customer to see what would be left/condition if wanting re-framing later. But agreed platform mounts would be best practice. But my understanding is for the average custom...

Re: Clay tile baby prints - mounting
Always use a natural curing silicone. Doesn't release acid as it cures. But does require leaving overnight. If stuck to mount and need to removed we cut/score around the item so a single layer of mount comes off with the item. Peel the paper thin layer off and the silicone usually comes away as a si...

How on earth do you get it down to 6KiB?
I did a test and saved a 100x100 pure white .jpg set to its lowest quality and it still came in well over 6KiB.
Any Suggestions?

Re: Limits of CNC Mount Cutting/Etching/Bevel etc
Hey there, The SAS piece you speak of is David Wilkie's piece. Has been a source of inspiration for many I'd say. Myself included. Many questions. What size are you looking at? The CMC blades can only do so much! But if you know how work the machine's software you can get more out of them. Also what...

Re: Hand Finish Mounts
Thanks for the response guys. I don't mean whole sheets. In that regards I would use the suppliers boards or, as David mentioned, drymount colours to board. I was referring to double mounts. Such as the foiling you speak about. I work with a lot of corporate colours. These guys like their pantones. ...

Hand Finish Mounts
Hello, long time... Just a quick question. Tried searching but revealed no results. What inks/paints do people use to hand finish/colour mounts. I'm kinda tired of settling for 'closest match' from mnufacturers and wanna look into colour matching. So firstly what do people use? And secondly are the ...

Re: How much do you spend on advertising?
I love your website Mr Grapes, about 50% of my work is football shirts, not quite as creative as your designs but the customers seem to like them in my neck of the woods.:D You obviously get a lot of requests from charities for framed shirts, I get loads, I tend to offer a small discount but as a o...

Re: broad band
A lot of the time it is down to infrastructure. Most homes, although fibre, still has copper cabling from the door to the green box. Completely bottle necking your speeds. The arrival of 4G should alleviate the issues with rural communities but won't match those with fibre to the door. I know Virgin...
