Re: Dried blood on museum board

Thanks.....

I've tried a wet wipe and that wipped it off beautifully.

Will see how it dries, but it looks fine at this early stage.

Dried blood on museum board

Hi,

I've managed to get some blood on a museum mount that I've cut. While I'm not averse to buying another board I was wondering if anyone has any tips on covering up the blood?!!?;

Double sided Football Shirt Frame

Hello all, I had an enquiry to frame a football shirt last night, but double sided so both sides of the shirt can be seen. While i can see images of such frames on-line, I was wondering if anyone's ever done one and what was involved please? Customer claims he has or is looking at a budget of £200 t...

Re: Norman Ackroyd Artworks

Thanks all thus far for the comments - I should have said at the outset that the prints are already in a posh book and in wallets, the client just wants to pick some out and frame them instead and keep changing the order. Originally I thought of an MDF backing and the shortfall in rebate distance co...

Norman Ackroyd Artworks

Hello, Have had my most lucrative enquiry to date yesterday – a client has 60 off Norman Ackroyd Artworks (A4 in size) that he says are worth £300 - £400 each. Unfortunately he only wants 10 frames, the frames designed in such a way that he wants to remove the prints so he can swap them all round. I...

Arquati 43

Hi has anyone used arquati 43 board before or know if it's still available from the likes of Wessex pictures? I have three mounts to make in it ideally.

Is it a museum board.......?

Thanks

Print stuck to MDF board!!!

Hi, I was wondering if anyone's ever had to try and remove a print that has been stuck to an MDF board.....?! A frame was brought to me by a customer - said frame had fallen off the wall shattering the plastic frame that it was in so i've made a new wooden frame. I've salvaged the mount that was stu...

Framing a Flag - Square not Triangular

Hi, Has anyone ever framed a flag as per the sink mount method on page 60/61 of Vivian Kistler's "Framing Collectibles" book - BUT square and not triangular? I have a client who wants to frame a squadron flag but only wants part of the flag showing - approximately 1 foot square of it. The ...

Framing a flag and a hat

Hi,

I had a message on the phone from some lady asking if I can frame a flag and a hat, whilst I haven't rung them back yet has anyone ever framed a flag & hat?

I've had a look through my Vivian Kistler books and while flags are mentioned, no mention of how you frame a hat.

Thanks!

Water stains in/on float glass

Hi,

I have some sheets of float glass that have got water on them, due to poor storage.

Is it possible to get the resultant stain off the glass and if so, how do I go about it please?

It's only one sheet 3' x 2' and three sheets smaller still, but it would be nice to salvage them.

Thanks!

5" deep moulding?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a 5" deep moulding to frame a model airplane?!

I've got one of DJS's samples which is about 4" deep from memory.

Just wondered if there was such a moulding out there?

Thanks,

Sean

Framing an archery target

Hi, I had an interesting enquiry last night from a member of an archery club. They want me to quote to put a 4ft diameter paper archery target in a frame (the target they got from the Olympics). I'm not setup to stick the target down, but can get a local framer to do that for me - has anyone got any...

DJ Simons Brochure

Hi, Is anyone in possession of the latest DJ Simons Moulding catalogue and if so, what is it please? Any advances on Spring 2011 that I have at home? I often ask them for the latest catalogue but it's never forthcoming and their website refers to 2004 being new, so enough said perhaps! Thanks, Sean

Re: CS88 Problem!!!

....my CS88 packed up last night too. Sod's law when i'm doing a bit of volume pinning. For some reason it's not firing the wedges in, it makes the depression in the moulding but that's your lot - there's not a wedge jammed as I've had the part out and have checked it. I then couldn't get it back in...
