Hi

All Arqadia's Whitecore/Conservation range is manufactured to the same standard using the same materials. The darker colours in the range can't be classed as conservation as there is a minimal chance the heavier dye used could cause damage.

I think!!

Kev

In response to my email Sam from Framers Corner replied yesterday to say she was sending me the latest software. It may be worth you doing the same if you haven't already.

How many cuts are you giving the moulding? And how wide is the moulding?

The penultimate cut should be one notch in and the last cut should only be shaving a fraction of the moulding to ensure a smooth edge.

Not tempted to invest £40,000 in a UV flatbed printer - So you can print on Acrylic, Glass, Perspex, etc.

For us the canvas side is slowing down. I think it peaked last year.

Printing on acrylic and solid materials seems to be becoming more popular.

If only I had a spare £40,000!!

Bespoke Moulding at around £2 - £2.50 per meter would be £30.00 each including glass, backing & hanging fixtures. You could also charge for fitting & barrier board if required.

We had a system 4000 for many years and it served us very well as a board and glass cutter. We brought a new Excalibur 5000 a few years ago which again is a very good machine. The 5000 has two cutting heads and also has a scoring blade which is very useful for cutting perspex. Personally I prefer th...

As a cheap alternative to MDF, Arqadia are releasing a compressed kraft cardboard on Monday that they have had made for non conservation backing - seems to be strong, sturdy, easy to cut and no dust. I think it will be around £1.10 per sheet or cheaper for a pallet - part no 999000118 or 999118000. ...
