Re: A couple of questions about morso
I have to lift the knee that extra bit. Not sure what I would do if I were 5ft 0". At the top of the left hand guide for the foot pedal you should have a large nut which is acting as a stop when the pedal is released. This nut can be loosened then lowered and retightened. It will reduce the tr...

Re: PCI DSS
Is anybody else struggling to understand the Bank of Scotland PCI DSS requirements. It's an ongoing nightmare! Fortunately I now have a CASE NUMBER  but that seems to change from time to time. Maybe thats the reason why I have now received 10 Personal Access Codes but still need a 'portal pas...

Bainbridge board
I received a pack of Bainbridge 8509 Malacca from Nielsen yesterday. Instead of having a distinct texture it now has a smooth finish. I have just phoned Nielsen and it appears the changes have been made without their knowledge and it seems that other colours may have changed their surface.Whether th...

Re: Furthest you have driven
Tell it, tell it. For the return journey (from Vancouver to Toronto, August 1967), we ( my fellow traveller, Fred and myself, both healthy 20+ heteros by the way) decided that it wasn't going to be such a challenge as the outward journey; we would stop off at a motel about half way. Left Van. early...

Re: making bricks from morso droppings
We use Morsø shavings as kindling during the winter, although not in a “brick”. Because the mouldings are kiln dried, they burn hot and fast and will catch our fireplace logs in minutes. ... and they make a great bed of hot cinders in the bbq to put the charcoal on. Word of caution be careful of th...

phs Wastetech
phsWastetech is part of a major conglomoration and I'm delighted to say that my account with this company has now terminated. I would recommend anyone who uses them to review their situation and read other blogs on the net regarding this company . I have been using them to remove my waste for about ...

Re: Am I Too Expensive # 2 ?
Sorry guys- I 've just noticed that my list for the costings hasn't come out as I had typed it. There should be two columns of figures, one for the reglaze and one for the new frame in order to compare side by side. I started this topic because I myself sometimes don't believe the computor and feel ...

Am I Too Expensive # 2 ?
I have just completed a reglaze job which was a Stones poster that had probably been languishing in a shed for 20 years. It is destined for the kids playroom (they're at private school) and my customer thought it was expensive, which, according to the computor, is £61.81 net. If I do a similar job (...

Just checked out this site - how much is a signed 'Harlequins' rugby shirt worth? The framing, with cons. clear is about £230.

Re: anyone got a spare bit of large glass?
Have you seen "The Omen"? I'm serious. It has happened. Have you seen 'What's Up Doc' with Barbara Streisand- one of the funniest films I ever saw. I’ve got a full sheet of 40” by 60” you can have for £3.40, but the shipping will probably kill ya. I've just sent a parcel to the Stat...

Re: Furthest you have driven
In July 67 I was living in London, thats Ontario,Canada and a mate in the flat upstairs suggested that we went to Vancouver to earn ourselves a fortune and being young and no worries I said yes. We drove in his Peugeot 404 via Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis/St Paul and through the Blacklands of Dakot...

Re: Part time framer hourly rate?
I have a part timer who is very flexible, gets on with the job and will do extra time if required. He is pretty good at most framing tasks and looks after customers well. He also has the same sense of humour as I do (we're both grumpy old men) and I pay him £10 an hour gross which is about the same ...

Re: Business Insurance
Hi Adrianp If you are still looking you might like to try AXA Insurance UK plc. I am just renewing my policies -one for the framing workshop and one for an online shop I run from home. They cost about the same at approx £250 pa. Several years back I used to run a policy specifically for the art/anti...

You then may have to take a cheque which could possibly bounce after you have released the goods. At least with a card payment it has immediate approval.Jonny2morsos wrote:How about telephoning and asking if they would like to suggest a convenient time you could deliver?

There are various websites that will check the meta tags etc. such as: http://www.submitexpress.com/analyzer/ Thanks, Framemaker, that's terrific. I shall have hours of fun with that. May I ask, Bill, how do you read someone elses Metatags? Surely that's a bit scary if you can look behind somebody's facade and see their inner workings.Bill Henry wrote: I notice that you don’t have any reference to your location in your meta tags.

Have I been conned
About 2 months ago I put my name on a local business website which was a freebee entry. A week or so later I received a letter from a company who would put my name at the top of Google's pages which I signed up for. At about the same time I started receiving phone calls from various companies who we...

Re: Urgent Costing
Hi Johnnnnnnnnny A bit late in the day but here .If you break down your components you should be able to use your regular price list ie. 20 x 16 mount price; glass, backing & fitting into a skeleton frame (mine gives me £32.08 plus vat) plus the retail price of the frame (for which I would doubl...
