Thanks for all the help and advice. I wasn't actually planning to do the cleaning myself, and to be fair my customer didn't expect me to do it. She asked if I could recommend someone! And I thought I would be able to, through the Guild, hence this post/thread.

I'm looking for a black moulding, only the front face is gold, not the whole thing!

Frame is square, the gold face does NOT slope down to glass.

Looking for help - again

Frame is 23 mm wide and 35mm deep. Smooth black paint with gold front face. Gold is brushed or scratched in two directions.

Any help with ID would be much appreciated.

I've been asked to frame a glazed tile about 200 x 280 mm into a tray moulding. I plan to fix a back board into the tray frame leaving about 10 mm space all round. Could be a child, but the overall size of the glass is around 190 mm diameter.

The gallery were suggesting NOT using glass, so the background of the casting would be against the frame. So a shallow box frame open to air and dust, another problem.
