All boards stored this way. I suggest in whatever order makes best sense to you, be it by colour, product number, whatever. Vertical storage is so much easier. We designed a table to take our CMC. 18mm MDF for top, base and sides with 9mm MDF dividers every 10cm. Solid as a rock.

Re: How store coloured mat boards to avoid scratches?
Vertical storage seconded. I have found a fix for scuffed dark coloured boards that is pretty much successful every time! Drench a clean rag in water and wring out well (not completely though). Wipe gently around the entire mount and dry instantly with compressed air. The scuff has miraculously vani...

Re: Pricing help
I would look at pricing software, but as I said earlier, you still have to make the same assumptions on mark-up/wastage/wages/profit as you do with a spreadsheet. This is the spreadsheet I made, so it is fairly comprehensive... Absolutely. We use a spreadsheet too. Loosely based on a markup model b...

Re: Pricing help
Hi. I'd be £96.50 for Job 1 and £250 for Job 2. We are based in the South with very little local competion. From where I'm looking you seem to be under pricing. Clearly I have no knowledge of your location/overheads etc or the prices your market can tolerate. Do you get many pushbacks on price? If y...

Hi Jon
Take a look at Simons K/0857 or R&H A255 - 35mm deep but face is more like 21mm on a length I've got here. Sold as a tray so nice wide base for pinning. Could rip a little off on a table saw to bring down to 17mm.

Really useful, thanks for sharing Thank you, Ed. Much appreciated. I use Titebond 1 inside a vacuum bag for all my veneers with a heavy duty vacuum pump. There is a possibility of using an ordinary domestic clothes storage vacuum bag with a Henry type vacuum cleaner. Orde02, who doesn't come on here...

Great job Dermot. Looks very good. You aren’t the only one doing it! We’re trying but had delamination issues lately usually at the point of applying stain. I’m sure it’s down to the type of contact adhesive we are using. Do you mind me asking what type you use? Water-based or solvent based? A brand...

Hi Megan
We would be happy to quote for you. I spotted your other post but I’m not in your locality. We have helped a few forum members with multi-aperture mounts and could arrange courier service for you. Drop us a PM with your requirements.
Cheers

Re: Ways to frame a sports shirt?
If you make sure the foam insert is a very good fit you don’t really need many attachments. I use a couple of stainless steel dressmakers pins either side of the collar into the side of the foamcore, and also either side at the bottom to hold in place. They are pretty much invisible.

Thanks. Looking for someone experienced in hanging fine art to advise on collating, collections, placements and layouts more than just banging a nail in the wall where they are told to.

Picture Hanging Service / Art Installers
We get asked very often about a picture hanging service. It's not something I have any interest in providing but there must be someone reliable and recommendable offering this service. Can anyone point me in the direction of service offerers in the South (South West) that might be able to help. Elde...

Mine is going part-ex for a Nexus edge in the next few weeks with TGS Repairs. Not sure if they have a taker for it yet. Ask Jamie Griffiths on 07817848324. He’ll know the whereabouts and availability of most Valiani’s in the UK.

Re: Do you photograph your finished frames? If so, do you publish them?
I only take pictures of the ones that are a bit special, out of the ordinary or I’m particularly proud of. And as you rightly pointed out photographing anything with regular glass looks underwhelming, however artglass usually photographs better. If I know in advance that I’m going to use a piece on ...
