Re: It's been awhile - still have problems
I do tend to back off the blades before raising the head as a habit or usual movement. I did think I would just need to mix a colour myself but don't fancy that on a long term. These are not cheap mouldings (Salvadori) so would hope it should cut well it the morso was good. On the calling the compan...

Re: It's been awhile - still have problems
Ye the mount board trick works well but not realistic on a daily bases. I didnt know you could adjust the head like that. It'll probably do the job for me.
Thanks

It's been awhile - still have problems
Hi guys, it's been awhile since I have been online and have had a issue a few years now with my morso dragging it's blades. Not too much a issue on silver/gold gesso covered frames as I can blend in coloured wax (obviously I'd prefer a crisper cut). Same goes with black and white mouldings. Recently...

Re: Cleaning glass issue
Ok guys thanks for all the help. I'v tried a few of the suggestion with no result :( I have even tried cleaning the glass with a auto paint thinner (something that iv used on car windows for years). Only thing i haven't tried and will a little later, is to run a sink of really hot water and wash eac...

Re: TV as monitor
So it will work fine for normal stuff but dont use it for anything like photoshop of similar visual centered software as it wont hold a celebration. Also, i find that montiors are cheap new and secondhand. I use a 27'' imac for editing and its really big for a computer screen (we all tend to sit clo...

Re: What to look for in a printer
That fair enough, and i agree that if the print doesnt have the gamut there is no real difference i.e. a cutomers iphone photo recently didnt make use of the better printer, but on the flip to that is Iv yet to see any of our own studio photography not avail of the 7900's abilities. We also have had...

Re: What to look for in a printer
The 7800 has a less vibrant magenta ink, I find pretty much zero difference between the 7880 and 7900 on 99.9% of prints so long as you are using custom profiles, we have 7880, 7900 and 9890 machines nothing to note between any of them, apart from speed, shiraz rip and a i1 profiler and off you go,...

Re: What to look for in a printer
I have had a 7800 since new. zero clogs, waste tanks can be emptied and reset, one power clean only in its lifetime. it is just as good almost in output as a 7900 but none of the problems. You just have to have the right environment for it. We have both those printer at the moment and while i agree...

Re: Framing calculator
not sure Colin is still around but you can still get a good calculator from online for free plugs into FileMaker Pro if you have that.
FileMaker pro is a pay for software but can be found in the right places.

Re: Dibond mounting, Hotpress or Jetmounter?
I tried a small test on an A3 sheet of dibond, mounted a matt print to it, laminated with gloss. Didn't work so well. As the board pre cut and I can't trim down I used a leader board, I remember I struggled working this way last time with creases where the boards meet. Chris, you can cut it down an...

Re: Buying a framing business
There is a lot to be said for the public knowing "there is a framing place on the corner of that street" I would be happy to buy a existing business and change the name. Id be more concerned about the equipment being cared for if the business was going bad or the owner has lost interest.

The Dibond info PDF says not to heat transfer, it needs to be pressure mounted like the jetmounter
