Re: Google Chrome has just installed itself onto my computer

From memory I think the more recent versions of Ccleaner have a install option screen for Chrome with the 'Yes' box prechecked. If you skip through these screens without checking (as we all do) occasionally something like this happens. I don't think it happens with the rolling updates, just the init...

Re: Cassis wedges compatible with Gielle underpinned?

Hello Matt,

If you do resolve your wedge issue and end up with redundant 10mm Cassese wedges I would be interested in taking them off your hands.

Re: Cassesse Underpinner cartridges

Thanks for trying that. I'll email them and ask. I'm always wary of asking the vendor if the item is suitable for a particular set of circumstances when they have a vested interest in selling it.

Cassesse Underpinner cartridges

Hi, I see that Mainline sell V nails (or Uni wedges as they refer to them) without any form of case or cartridge link: https://www.mainlinemouldings.com/index.php?DepartmentID=8&CategoryID=91&ProductID=WDG-0002 Can these be used to recharge empty Cassesse underpinner V nail cartridges? If so...

Re: No image for hours.

I can recommend a free program called Ccleaner (as in C-Cleaner). Clear caches and more in just a few seconds. A word of warning though, if you have your browser store all your passwords for auto logging into websites etc (like FF) it will clear them all too, so make sure you know what your password...

I agree 100% with prospero here. The message has to be something that can slip into modern culture with ease. Something like 'See it. Like it? Frame it'.

Ctrl + Z key = undo last action function in many Windows based programs. Might recover your accidentally deleted text (next time) if you use immediately after the error.

Re: Morso rocks like crazy on the not flat floor in my new s

As suggested, make a sturdy base and then buy a pack of M10 threaded adjustable feet to accurately take up any variation in the floor under the Morso. Here's a link to something typical on ebay. They come with a variety of lengths for the actual threaded section, so choose the size that will cover t...

Re: PNG vs JPEG Image files.

Did you solve the file type problem? If the solution isn't as straightforward as a .png to .jpg extension rename then just open it in any picture editor or viewer and re-save it in the format of your choice and let the software correct the hex issues.

Re: Morso cleaning

When I can feel that the cast iron surface has lost its glossy feel I give it a little squirt of WD40 and a quick rub over with some fine wire wool followed by a buff with a clean cloth. The muck that is removed is surprising and the surface is then back to a nice clean and smooth working surface. I...

If it is a fixing from the USA it is highly likely to be an imperial size. They are available still, but make sure you don't acquire a metric only set.

Re: Bench end guillotines

My guillotine has arrived and I'm very pleased with the results. After a quick once over with a wire brush to remove some rust it's now in service. The cut edge on the thicker material like the 2.4mm card is very clean and the cut edge on the 2mm MDF is more than acceptable. Amazing results from a w...

Bench end guillotines

I'm looking for user experiences of bench end guillotines (like the big red one Lion sells) when cutting 2mm MDF. The edges are very clean on the boards from the factory and I'd like to know if a bench end guillotine can reproduce this or is the cut similar to the slightly coarse edge you get when c...

Wizard W5000 on ebay

I spotted this listing whilst looking for something else. Posted in the event it may be useful to someone as the item hasn't been listed on the Forum and CMC's of all ages appear to be sought after. I have no connection with the seller and potential purchasers should satisfy themselves that all is i...

Re: morso blade guard

If you stand facing the Morso as though you were about to use it the guard holder is a circular metal disc about ~40mm across and ~20mm deep with a vertical ~10mm hole through it The blade guard support rod goes in there and is locked into position with a hand nut out of sight behind it that you hav...
