Thanks everyone for the replies! I’ve now phoned the headquarters/service centre in Bristol. Really helpful, fingers crossed for a solution soon 🤞🤞😊

HGP360 vacuum press

Hi, I have a hgp360 vacuum heat press in need of a service. It’s struggling to get to vacuum, it does get there but takes a while. Has anyone got any suggestions? or know if there’s a service centre in the southwest? I think I remember hearing there’s one in Bristol?
Thanks!

Re: Art Glass

I now use AR glass over 80% of the time. I find that when I show the Artglass demonstrator, (the one where they think that there's no glass in the middle bit), they always want it. Once we've got over the fact that it's magic, I make a point of showing them that it isn't, and that they will get ref...

Re: Art Glass

I can't say that I use massive amounts of anti-reflective glass, or the old fashioned defused type of non-reflective glass. At various times particular brands are a better price and my supplier, (Wessex Pictures) happily will supply me with the best combination of performance and price. As a rule t...

Re: Art Glass

Most of them are mainly effective while standing directly in front of the framed work, the more of an angle, the more reflection there is, and the darker the Subject the more reflections there will be, if you have one of the point of sale display products , showing the 3 different type of glass, Cl...

Not your average framer wrote: Sat 02 Oct, 2021 10:59 am I don't like brands, where it is too easy to scratch the non reflectice coating, which is really a big disappointment!
How is it possible to get around that though when limiting reflections is important?

Re: Art Glass

 this is very true!
I explained that to them but thought it might be worth checking if they did perform differently, because I’ve only tried Tru Vue

Yes I was wondering how they compare with regards to limiting reflections? Is one brand better than another?

Art Glass

Hi everyone! I'm currently using Tru vue Ultravue UV92 to frame pastels, I'm wondering how it compares to the other competitors out there like Art Glass and Mirrorguard? Although Tru Vue greatly reduces reflections, I wonder if the others might reduce them more, as there are still quite at lot prese...

Re: Adhering canvas to dibond with vacuum press

I've not mounted canvas yet, but in the Wessex catalogue, Hotpress specify the Dry Mount Film rather than the Unimount Classic film. Best bet is to call Steve Goodall at Oldham branch Wessex, he's the expert and Hotpress trainer. 07585 138566 Great, thank yo...

Adhering canvas to dibond with vacuum press

Hi all, I’ve recently bought a secondhand HGP360 vacuum press. I want to adhere primed canvas to dibond. Can anyone recommend a good archival adhesive, ph neutral? I’ve experimented with some that came with the machine but found the canvas could pull off the dibond fairly easily. Is this normal and ...

Re: Cutting dibond

Thanks, can I ask you at Keencut, I’ve just seen the keencut 4000 model on eBay which would be great in other ways and help with the budget, do you think this will also cut dibond? Thanks!

Sounds ideal but a bit out of budget sadly

Re: Cutting dibond

Dibond or ACP (Aluminium Composite Panel) is made by a whole host of manufacturers and their behaviour when cutting can vary. This material is used widely in the sign and construction industries and comes in a number of colours/finishes. It can be cut in a number of ways each with its pros and cons...

Re: Cutting dibond

Yes we struggle for space so the bigger saws aren’t really an option.

I’m yet to develop my gibbon arms too 😂

Thanks for the advice about plunge cutter, any recommendations on make/ model?

Re: Cutting dibond

Thanks, we don’t have a table saw unfortunately but the dust is also a good point I hadn’t considered. I suppose a Stanley knife or rotatrim at least wouldn’t have that issue, very minimal dust at least.
