inkjet

Hi All, This has possibly been covered before but does any of you have any experience with compatible inkjet cartridges? I am looking at the photo quality Epson printers such as the R800 and R1800. In a nutshell, I am interested in jet tec and inkrite cartridges as opposed to the OEM cartridges. Two...

Re: Plexiglass

Thanks for all the info, guys, much appreciated.

Framejunkie - Do you take any plastic glazing from G&M? If so, I would be interested to know what you recommend and an indication of price, if possible.

Thanks again.

Re: Plexiglass

JFeig, I sent a standard form request from their website asking for samples and a price list for plastic glazing. They emailed back informing me that they do not supply the general public and can they have my account code. Fair enough. As as start up business, I purchase all my supplies cash up fron...

Plexiglass

Hi All, Does anyone know where I can obtain decent plexiglass/styrene/acrylic/whatever at ok prices. I approached Glass&Mirror but they were a bit sniffy and wouldn't even send a sample as I didn't have an account. Obviously got too many customers already!!! I really need it for sending frames b...

Re: Seeking advice on plastic glass

Hi Robbiez, I was wondering if you could recommend a supplier for the 2mm acrylic that you mentioned. Your stuff sounds pretty good compared to the styrene that I have used. In addition, I would be grateful if you could give me an idea of the price you pay per sheet. I have tried glass&mirror bu...

Re: How NOT to do customer service.

A lot of the materials that I use in the printing trade have a peelable coating on to prevent scratching. Polycarbonate labels and machine panel overlays, that kind of thing. Sometimes this is translucent white, mostly clear but occasionally yellow. Not unknown for the odd customer to phone and comp...

Have a look at Fidget Club Cards. http://www.fidgetclubcards.co.uk A graphic designer and personal friend of mine, they are a small independant publisher that are slowly making a name for themselves. They exhibit at a lot of trade shows and did do the Spring Fair this year for the first time. Andrew...

Re: website

Thaks for the info, people. Much appreciated.

Any other thoughts in general on websites for framing?

I personally will not be offering a full framing service but will be concentrating on specific products that I have developed for sports.

Re: website

Yes, I agree that colour rendition and accuracy would be an issue, but it's really to give people an idea of the range. I have seen other sites with mountboard colour palettes and wondered how one would go about achieving this.

website

Hi guys, A question for you techies or folks with websites. I am in the process of constructing a website and would like to know how to display mountboard colour samples. Do the manufacturers have a file that you can download and then import to your site? Also, any tips worth considering regarding w...

A friend of mine attended Corona stage school in Hammersmith and became friends with Zach Starkey, Ringo Starr's son. During the summer hols, I was duly invited over to his house in Strawberry Hill, Twickenham to meet him. We descended in to his cellar where he had a full adult drum kit assembled an...

Re: Keencut blades

I think I went through half a box of blades before realising that the blades were double ended and therefore can be used twice.... The "used" end will have a wear pattern from the mountboard cuts. I mark the side of the tip that is used with a marker when I turn the blade. I can never reme...

Yeah, I might give them a call. I know that a lot of you guys highly recommend them and they have a very good range of plastic glazing.

Thanks for all your help so far, everyone. It is very much appreciated.

ok, it looks as if glass may be out on the grounds of the fact that it probably won't make it - unless it is carefully wrapped. Having looked at the price of the extra packaging materials, increase in weight and the element of doubt involved, it looks like it may have to be plastic. In which case, w...

Glazing

I would like to start to supply frames by mail order but I don't really like using styrene, etc due to static, cost and the fact that it scratches so much more easily than glass. Could any of you please share your experiences of shipping glass or (plastic) and let me know the maximum size of frame t...

Thanks for the info guys. Very illuminating. Does anyone know of any other stockists other than Lion in the Middlesex area? Possibly for the Bainbridge boards.

I assume that most manufacturers can supply a sample chart FOC if I ask.

Gosh, Robo. That frame is stunning! I think that I have unleashed a lion here(no pun intended!), as I know realise that there are more boards than you can shake a measuring stick at! I almost wish that I hadn't asked now as I will not sleep knowing that ther are all those other lovely alternatives o...
