Re: Special deep frame.

So much you can do with the leathery texture and you will see that in the link, It's very simple and easy but results is great, so i only paint the frame with white, then using a cotton cloth i spread brown o...

How did you do the crinkly sides?
Thanks a lot for your comment, I'm glad you like it :)

I do it by gluing paper sheets and i control the wrinkles, next when it's dry i color it with dark color, then some gold powder mixed with sealer.

Special deep frame.

Hello :) I'm posting again after the amazing encouragement i received for my work. This is a very unique moulding i made, this frame is made of spruce wood and it's only as a sample, to stay at the workshop, sometimes I fill the curve with gold leaf or color it different than rest of the frame, it d...

Re: Circular oak wood frame.

Very nice . I agree it will cost a lot especially in the UK, I'm from Jordan so prices is different and depend on the kind of wood and finish. But i can tell that this method is the best way for solid wood circular or oval frames but the joint will be different if it's wide diameter like 1 M Glad y...

Circular oak wood frame.

Hello all, I would like to share some of the mouldings i make, Being a joiner and a carpenter gives me ability to make my own moulding, and i love to do what can't be done usually in standard framing. Most clients complain that they can't find a solid wood circular frame and it was the trigger for t...

Re: Edge-less canvas stretcher.

Yes. Forgive me for saying this but as far as original paintings go a 'serious' artist would never use a system like this. Are the corners double-mortised and keyed? I agree with you and i appreciate the frank opinion, It's not mortised, only 45 degrees joint, but that can be done easily. For serio...

Re: Edge-less canvas stretcher.

I rather like the idea, is something a bit different, both for hanging directly on the wall and in a tray frame. I think it would also work well on the deep box canvases which I find quite ugly looking, I think I recall a time when the deep box canvases were a pretty new thing, now they are everywh...

Re: Edge-less canvas stretcher.

I’m sure Mainline here make something like that (obvs a bit far away from Jordan) - I think it was called the flatscreen stretcher or something. Just had a little look - they’ve discontinued it!! I can't deny it's a very good stretcher, But i dont follow others work and always go extreme challengin...

Re: Edge-less canvas stretcher.

As you are making these to order as you need them, will you be able to charge sufficient extra for this service to make this financially worth while? I am thinking this because normal stretcher bars are available of the shelf at competitive prices Well this is the first i make of this kind and want...

Re: Edge-less canvas stretcher.

Not a bad idea by any means. It would give the impression of a floating panel rather than a monolithic slab. For a while i thought that you don't like it :) I'm a carpenter and very interested to develope canvas stretcher beside other arts but so far never stretched a print but i think it's possibl...

Edge-less canvas stretcher.

Hello all, I'm still new to this forum and decide to share what I'm working on. This is an edge-less canvas frame and I'm very happy with the result. For so long it's an endless discussion between artists about either painting the edge or to keep it black, so i decided to break the rules :D It's 45 ...

Re: Hello from the other side.

I wonder if you are the first from Jordan? Which part of Jordan are you from ? Thank you Keith for the warm welcome, I'm from Amman the capital, and i think I'm the only Jordanian here because only few professional framers live in Jordan and i doubt they are interested in art. I will start showing ...
