Re: Cutting glass
The wheels do rotate but it is quite an effort to pull the cutter through the 2mm mdf and it does really pull the mdf away from the back of the machine... the cutting head I would say is quite stiff on the track compared to the glass cutting head so maybe adjustment required? I've downloaded the man...

Re: Cutting glass
That's interesting .... I'm using 2mm mdf and it's quite tough to pull the cutter down..... I may buy new wheels and try to adjust.... should the cutter head run smoothly up and down on the rail? Mine's a bit stiff even without trying to cut mdf? Also should the mdf wheels pull the mdf off the cutte...

Re: Cutting glass
It's the mdf were struggling with .... in a 4ft cut it runs 3or 4mm out.... but the wheels really pull.the board off the machine..?? The glass cuts bang on so it's not the machine out of square.... I've had suggested... New cutting wheels or an issue with the clamps?
Thoughts?

On the 4000 the long clamp that hold mdf or boards etc does the clamp have rubber on it?
I've got a second had machine and there seems to be some rubber on it but not a lot.... we've had problems with cutting mdf and I'm just wondering if this is contributing to the issue.

Re: Cutting glass
Does anyone on here use a designated glass and board cutter ie keencut? We're about 4 months into picture framing and my buisness partner favours the 4000 whilst I'm used to a t square... he finds it hard to snap big glass on the board cutter as it often runs off at the end of the cut on a big sheet...

We bought the second hand machine and after being a pig to square was working fine. Now the mdf head has starting running out.... not too bad over a short length but over 3ft could run out 3 or 4mm +? I wondering if there is some adjustment Im missing or a bearing knackered ? There doesnt seem to be...

Re: Morso under pinner wedges
Thanks for the replies.
It's all new to me so a steep learning curve.... the machine so far is performing well but the maintance needs sorting as we haven't done anything to it yet.... I'll look into it now.

Morso under pinner wedges
We've bought a second hand morso underpinner which so far is fine, but looking at the wedges they are eye wateringly expensive from morso.
Is there an alternative brand available?
£43 for a box seems a bit pricey?

Re: Under pinner wanted midlands ish !
Hi, no there's no adjustment on this underpinner unfortunately, you mean the adjustable gates found on Alfamacchine's. The cuts have to be good, really good or the gaps will show. I found practise makes perfect between the Morso and the underpinner. The adjustment has to be made on the morso to get...

Re: Under pinner wanted midlands ish !
Hi, I use the Morso underpinner as a backup for my Alfamacchine 44. Its ok for the small framer but if your planning on knocking out large quantities, i would look for a more robust model, possibly pneumatic. The foot pedal on the more is weak and tends to bend around the piston joints, I have had ...
