I know of many distributors who will reject product if it not acceptable to their customers..... To me 6 1/2 ft - 2m lengths are too short for framers for average size frames (up to 32 x 40 frames - one full sheet of board) ......... unless it is 1/2" - 12mm wide stock where small frames are th...

Professional Photographers
Sometimes people "don't know that they don't know" That is what is being discussed here. If these people were in the legal or medical profession and did similar mismanagement of their tasks for a client what would be the reprocussions? A lot more than just a little grumbling. As for those...

There are 2 competing systems now that Wizard has announced their program as of the Atlanta show. The show prices are around $1,000us or less. Additional costs included a digital camera, cables and an extra monitor. Lifesaver software introduced their program about a year ago. Many of the people of ...

every 2 hours.........
other than what the others have said about checking for leaks, once every 2 hours doesn't sound that bad.
Try removing a single tool for a day. and see how each unit effects the time between cycling of the compressor.

classes
Paul,
Classes in the US are running from $125 per day to $1000 per week. The lower end rates are for large group classes at trade shows to private individuals giving glasses. Gilding classes are a bit more pricy due to smaller classes and supplies.

multi apetures
The actual layout time for 4 apetures would be about 60 seconds and would take another 60-90 seconds to cut the entire mount........ that is without counting the time to find the board and cut the outside dimensions to size. The real time savings would be in doing a double mount and being within ,01...

extra opening charge
Over on this side of the pond I have charged $4.00 for each extra opening since at least 22 years. That is as far back as my price charts go (1983). It is a lot easier these days to set up an entra opening with a CMC. Because it is easier now, doesn't mean that the "value added" of 2 openi...

offcuts
here in the US we call them "cutouts" or simply "scrap board". In either case since they multiply like rabbits, they are never all used. I have for years cut them unto standard sizes for making ready made mounts ( 5x7, 8x10, 11x14,16x20 etc). My maximum ready made size is a 16x20...

The normal method of reinforcing a gessoed corner is to embed a small piece of silk fabric under the gesso. This will act as a skeleton and reduce cracking.

A simple method of changing the size of a stretcher bar is to add a strip of wood along the side(es) that have to be enlarged. If you have a 24" strip and need 24 1/2" simple add a single 1/2" shim (strip) on the apposing side (or 2 - 1/4" strips, one on each side). The spline jo...
