Re: FrameReady Issues!
Did you backup your previous version? If not, you should have.
If you did, you can just open the backed up version and use it.

Also note that the miter seam appears to be "filled in" with that "orange" coating.

Re: High volume shrink wrapping
With that volume you need an industrial shrink wrap tunnel to do the shrinking. These can be found under "industrial packaging equipment".

Check with any of a number of on-line sellers and forums in the UK. Specify the size of the machine you are looking for (standard size sheets or oversized sheet). Note that there are machines for small, single person shops as well as for production shops.

Re: Digital Mount Cutter
Can you explain what the word "digital" has to do with a mount cutter? All the ones that I have used over the many decades have been: manual bar style, hand operated, pneumatic, or computer controlled.
Re: Art glass
You didn't describe what type of glass and it's shape. After your response to inserting wood shims around the border of the frame that acts like a bezzle around the art, similar to a frame for a "collector plate" or sheet of mirror my response would have been different. Depending on the ty...

In most cases the proper material for this task is to use is HD natural thread. It has been used to attach buttons to the front of upholstered furniture for centuries. If you insist on metal wire, stainless steel is about the only choice.

Re: Fixing to glass - options sought please?
I would suggest acrylic sheet for the "see through" backing of the item that is mounted to a mountboard. Acrylic can be drilled, slotted and abraded for additional adhesion to the mountboard by any mechanical fastener or a reversable adhesive.

Re: Glass vs Acrylic
I have asked another framer on the island and he uses glass from a local supplier - but it’s not framers glass. If you are only using "standard, not UV filtering glass", I disagree. Float glass is float glass and it all comes off of the same plate glass making machine with the same chemic...

Re: Glass vs Acrylic
The question is, what will the customer be willing to pay for the equivalent product (regular, vs UV filtering, vs anti-reflective), glass vs acrylic glazing. This is a consideration while maintaining your same CGS(cost of goods sold). They both have their uses as well as pros and cons. If you are h...

Re: Very deep box frame
Mark, if you are asking me regarding the use of plywood, I would use notched rabbited corners, with the joining done with the top and bottom panels. This would leave both sides free of visible joints. There would be a "face frame" in front the the "box" for decorative visibility.

Re: Framing a record
While the mounting can be done; it is not a practical request from the customer. The easiest way would be to digitally make a copy of the label and attach the label to a dummy disc made from another LP of no value. Mount this dummy disc into the frame and safeguard the collector one for actual playi...

Although it is a specialty product in the US, Baltic birch is a very stable and SOP product for cabinet makers and a good choice in that it comes in various thicknesses.

Re: A dolly/cart for moving packages of glass and board?
For the moving of, fragile, valuable, and large items you might want to consider "A" (or a cart with strong sides) frame style carts for the added security they offer.

The only other alternative is to increase the width of the rebates to "hide" the out of square geometry. This might require a wider frame.

This sounds like a case of taking the art off of the stretcher/strainer bars and restretching the art.
Is this project, perchance, of tourist art that was stretched on raw wood vs milled bars?
