The Fine Art Trade Guild(FATG) stipulates that pressure sensitive tapes should not be used at Conservation level framing, I believe the rea...

Thanks for watching the video. A couple of points that you might consider. You need to be careful when mounting photographs especially if they are either printed in a lab or on photographic papers. If using either of these papers it is likely that you will see the point of hinging through the photog...

Re: Pahari Princesses Video

Good Morning I have just added a further seven Read, Reflect and Learn articles. Any missing numbers indicate they were not written by myself. The last one I wrote was RRL021 before resigning as FSQC Chair. There have been a couple more written by Members of the FSQC but I think you have to be a Gui...

Re: Window-mount width?

An interesting series of posts. Personally, I prefer a wide mount and my minimum width is around 70mm;, however, this will change dependent upon the type/shape of mount’s aperture and subject. As suggested throughout the posts if the mount looks aesthetically good then that should be pleasing all ro...

Mughal Art on Ivory

For those who might be interested I have just posted a new video on my Youtube channel. The video describes how I have approached and reframed a item of Mughal art painted on wafer thin ivory in an attempt to reframe it in the style of 19th century Mughal/Persian artwork. Read, Reflect and Learn

I have just written two articles under the Read, Reflect and Learn(RRLs) series. For those who are unaware what the RRLs are, I started them back in 2014 to provide Continuing Professional Development credits for Fine Art Trade Guild members. There some 16 presently on the Guild web-site. There are ...
