Re: Wanted - HOTPRESS Vacuum Press

This is an old post - but for the sake of accuracy... The HGP360 is NOT 3 PHASE - it is single phase - but does draw 18 amps - so needs "hard wiring" directly to a 20amp "cooker box" wall supply. IMPORTANT - by a qualified electricican  we don't want anyone going up in smok...

Re: Question about floater frames

Hi, I'm just about to do a floater frame, as described in a previous posting by WelshFramer above. I'm going to dry mount the print to 5mm Foamcore and then Matt Laminate it, do I need to attach it to a backboard first, before sticking within the floater frame, for extra strength ? Thanks, Bagpuss ...

Re: Centre Mounting Photo with no top mountboard

Is the problem you describe that you want the image centered but without pencil lines showing? When face with that kind of situation, we generally mount a photo (or whatever) roughly in the center of oversized backing material, then trim the perimeter of the backing where the hash lines won’t be se...

Re: Forex foamboard

Thanks for that, Steve. :) Final question, do you (or does anyone) know where I can get the stuff (can't remember the technical term) that you place over high gloss images to stop them going dull in the press. The technical term is "silicone release film" - people used to use "overla...

Re: Forex foamboard

Hi Steve! :hi: Long time no read! Thanks again for the really helpful information! :) Quick question: could you use PMA as an adhesive for drymounting to said board, and vacuum only on one's press for bonding? The PMA doesn't breathe & neither does the board - so "bubble mania" would ...

If your looking to store junk on top of your press - a vacuum could be right up your street - as it is lower - you can pile junk higher - before hitting the ceiling :D As for the glass - 6mm of toughened glass will take a hell of a load of weight - I used to walk over the top of press lids at our No...
