Re: Underpinner needed

Don't you just love it when people ask for help or whatever and then just seem to disappear off the face of the earth…….alien abduction perhaps?

Re: New to framing - Corner gap, maybe underpinner

This may be a first, but I have to disagree with Dermot! I'm my (much less) experience there are far more variables in underpinning than in cutting on the Morso. For this reason many people glue and clamp overnight before underpinning. The risk is always that underpinning may break the glue joint a...

Re: New to framing - Corner gap, maybe underpinner

You have to glue the joints….v nails hold the joint together until the glue dries. Your cuts are great so the morso cuts look good.

As others have stated these look quite good….just need a little tweaking. One thing I like to do is pre glue the corners in a vise….then put the v nails in. Also, I eliminate the front pneumatic clamp because I have found that it can pull apart the glued corners. And I think it is not needed if the ...

Re: Does A Mitre Saw Laser Help?

I agree Nick, I build furniture as well as do framing and I use the laser all the time, on all three of my saws. I do not understand why others have an issue with this….if it works for you, then use it, if it does not work for you then do not use it. But making a generalized statement that in essenc...

Re: Equipment for sale

Another world is right.😂😂 On the US side, we have several members from the UK as well.

Issues arising in framing are the same world over….we are just one big framing family wherever we are😁

Re: Old fashioned style butt jointed frames.

Here is an example of a real primitive frame made from picket fence wood…very cool. Got this from a website that like to work with weird wood. Beehappygraphics.com

Re: Old fashioned style butt jointed frames.

Hello,

Have you considered using lap joints? Very easy to cut with a table saw or router and will be much easier on you, then wielding that 7 pound Domino around the shop.
