A designer asked me to review my tender drawing yesterday. He insisted to strengthen the frame corner for the frame mirror size 1.6 meter wide by 1.1meter height, (the mirror is 6mm thick) I need to insert 2 nos of wood dowels and screwed with metal biscuit joiner in my frame construction drawing. H...

Alex Ferguson signed MU jersey
A walk in customer came in yesterday with a Manchester United jersey signed by Sir Alex Ferguson. He asked me if I could propose him certain designs. So that he would be able to visualize hows the frame look like. Unfortunately I do not have the visualization software programs in my shop. :( I belie...

Annual membership fee
I stop renewing my FATG membership for next year as I feel that the fee is too high for me. ( because of the currency change, I have to pay extra 7 times more on the memebership fee ! :sweating: (just imagine that I have to multiply 7 to convert the Malaysia Ringgit to paun sterling, ....). Anyway, ...

GCF Framer featured in newspaper!
Last month, a local English newspaper editor came to do a framing. She was surprised seeing so many unusual frame peices hung on the wall. She was so excited to know that framing can be so `interesting'. Then she started asking a lot of questions and snaped a numbers of photos in my gallery. She tol...

Re: CPF & GCF Test
Hi Mary, good to see you here. I guess the bottom line about a test is whether it will benefit the business. In my case I doubt it would make any difference whichever test or qualification I passed. Most of my customers come by word of mouth and I doubt that they would know a GCF from a CPF or a JG...

Re: PPFA in the UK.
I am a picture framer from Malaysia...For me, GCF exam is better than CPF. GCF test both of your theories knowledge and practical ability. CPF is just like an exam for colleage students. Someone may be not good enough even he passed the CPF exam. But talking in joining FATG or PPFA, I think I prefer...
