Re: Large jigsaw suggestions
Tudor Rose's method is very similar to how I would do it, you need to consider whether you want to get involved with the transport, you could maybe do it yourself, ask a favour, hire a van or decline, saying 'quite happy to do the framing but you would need to deliver to me and collect' As framing i...

Re: Large jigsaw suggestions
I would be happy framing that, jumbo self adhesive board and acrylic. I would use 2 4' x 5' sheets of MDF for transport. The good thing about this is you can quote before you start and factor in the logistics

Re: What extra ‘must have’ equipment would you recommend?
When looking at compressors I would consider how noisy they are, if you are in a small workspace and talking to a customer and the compressor kicks in that's annoying.
You will need pipes, fittings, blow off gun maybe a moisture trap

Re: Keencut futura
Are you definitely using the single end S blades? It is essential that the blade only just cuts through the mount into the slip, backing off the blade reduces the sweep and the overcut and reduces hooking

I have/had this issue, are you using Tech S 12 blades? Does the spring in the adjuster become coil bound, what thickness board are you cutting?

Re: PRICING SOFTWARE ESTLITE
I use BBest, I haven't used Estlite, one of the main differences I think is that using BBest there isn't any customer records, you can add customer details to an invoice and print but there isn't any facility to go back to a previous invoice/job, once printed it's 'gone' I suppose it depends how muc...

Awesome! What tool/machinery is used to slot the corners, I've seen it on frames before usually with a contrasting wedge?

Re: To chop or not to chop
A couple of thoughts In my previous career before I came back to framing we worked from a large unit and half of it filled up over time with 'things that will come in handy' I had the idea of clearing the space; we threw everything away, turning it in to a self contained unit, this cost me about £4k...

To chop or not to chop
Hi all, I have been analysing the service from some of our suppliers. Before I begin it does go against the grain for me - I feel we buy mouldings at a (low) price cut frames, and assemble. Paying approx double for something I could do, doesn't seem good sense. But.....looking in to it, I had a job ...

I would urge you to setup and complete your Google profile, these days it is like a mini website and is easy to update. This will give you far more chance of showing up higher in Google searches

Re: Do you photograph your finished frames? If so, do you publish them?
You can try photographing with the lights off as long as there is some light from somewhere, you will have to rest your phone on something to avoid shake I post on social media but only my own work or with permission from the customer - this can be when the customer picks up: 'i thought this looked ...

Re: Keencut Ultimat Futura Advice
I have a slightly different problem with mine, the long scale is perfect but the top scale with finger is in the wrong position, there isn't enough adjustment before the spring is coil bound to make it right, so if you are cutting a 50mm mount you have to do 50 50 52. I also have a Ultimat Gold with...
