Plan chest - Free (needs TLC)
This served me well but is now surplus to requirements. It needs a new top and the drawers are a bit sticky, so could do with some TLC to make it perfect. I never got round to it myself. Free if anyone can use it. Collection from LD1 (mid-wales). 07342 967341 CC01C388-6668-4A4F-A3B3-E3FF1AB3F3C5.jpeg

Re: Welsh businesses - new recycling laws
Meh. The bin lorry arrived but didn’t take my rubbish today. I’m hoping it wasn’t because there was plastic wrap in it.

Re: What extra ‘must have’ equipment would you recommend?
A seriously big rubbish bin. I have two wheelie bins - does that count? IMG_6855.jpeg Just an update. Thank you for all your input but I didn't get the grant in the end. Boo. The feedback was that a new fund is now being offered that would be more appropriate. Fair enough. The other is...

Re: Welsh businesses - new recycling laws
Well today I got an email from the council confirming I should continue to put soft plastics in the general waste, until such time as they are in a position to offer recycling.
So nothing changes for me - hooray

Dunno, the law is changing is all I know, So it remains to be seen I guess. I am an over-thinker admittedly.

Re: Welsh businesses - new recycling laws
In fact I don't understand what the deal is with this law coming in. My understanding was that if I didn't have waste contracts in place over the last few years, I was liable for exactly the same fine! I believe (could be wrong), that the onus is now on businesses to separate recycling at source ra...

Re: Welsh businesses - new recycling laws
My fear with putting in the general waste is someone fining me. What I can't ascertain is who is responsible for the fines - the council or the government? Or the bin man refusing to empty it and I get charged an aborted collection fee, with nothing in writing to exonerate me. I pay £7.45 every four...

Welsh businesses - new recycling laws
I know at least a couple of you are in Wales (shwmae!), and wonder how the new recycling laws are going to affect you? My worry is plastics. I have a waste contract with my council but they do not recycle soft plastics - bubble wrap, mountboard bags etc. These currently have to go in the general was...

Free: Old morso blades for postage cost
Can anyone on here use these? (Just cover the postage cost - £12ish I think Special Delivery) I'll be honest, they came with my Morso and are not the greatest. I couldn't get them to sit right after they were sharpened. After advice on here I bought a new set from Framers Equipment, who also looked ...

Re: A thread of gratitude
My day job is a rolling fixed term which has recently been extended for another year so I have the pressure off for a while. Besides, boring as it may be at times, I work from home on flexi-time with good T&Cs so I'm not in a major rush to give it up. It allows me to do build up the framing with...

A thread of gratitude
Not quite enough for the announcement section, but for me it's huge. I finally got the keys to my workshop today! :D I just wanted to say thank you to each and every one of you who has answered my questions, reached out to me, offered advice and been generally patient with my often random musings. I...

Re: Large jigsaw suggestions
Thank you all, I strongly suspect that I won't hear anything more now I have given a guide price. I'm not overly fussed (do NOT want to have scrabble around for 8000 jigsaw pieces on the workshop floor  ) but you never know.... But, it has given me an idea to frame a jigsaw for my new 'showro...

Re: Large jigsaw suggestions
Thank you, really helpful as always and I'm feeling more confident I could tackle it. I've found a random jigsaw I can have little play with too. A couple more questions if you aren't fed up of me yet please. At this size, am I looking at a subframe as standard? (The largest I have done is an OS map...

Re: Large jigsaw suggestions
Thanks, really helpful. I have a van and don’t mind collecting. I’m starting to see the light with chop and am starting to factor that in for some frames now.
What acrylic would you recommend? I am going to do as you suggest- go back with a price and leave it there.
